That can be said of the majority of Nintendo characters. It's one of the reasons that make this series so fun because of the unexpected battles you can have with different Nintendo characters.
Mario, I can see. Link too. and Kirby. and Samus. ROB, Peach, and Dr. Mario....... I'll give you those. But most of the cast are action characters. The villager is a life sim character, Olimar is an RTS character, and Wii Fit is Wii Fit. Excluding ROB, my examples still can count (Peach saved the world once and Dr. Mario is just Mario as a Doctor). Also Pikmin are a few CMs tall, not a few feet.
