People just go into it thinking "it's for school, so it must suck". Make that decision for yourself when you're done :) Also, check out banned books such as "Catcher in the Rye" which is one of my all time favorites.

The only book I read for school that I hate for real is "To Kill A Mockingbird." I know it's classic and I should really enjoy it but it's dull and I can't even get though the second chapter. The only reason I know what went on in the book was because my teacher summarized it after each chapter. The same thing happened when I tried to watch "Casablanca." They are both dull and I really can't get though ether one.

Ah man, I love ! [Fun fact: I was almost named Scout]. One we had to read that I couldn't stand was The Great Gatsby. We even watched the original movie in class and I hated that too.

The Great Gatsby is one of those books that I did not like but only because I had to read it. I can actually tell you more of what happened in that book than To Kill A Mockingbird. Most of what I know of the latter is from the movie (which is a great movie) and I can't tell you what they changed. I think the books are dull due to the time period they were written in.

People at my school are also reading to kill a mockingbird, idk about the Great Gatsby, though....
I am pretty interested in Of Mice and Men, though. Very interested, I might add.
