Borderlands 2: Axton is Bisexual
#1
The commando for Borderlands 2, Axton, has been confirmed as bisexual by Borderlands 2 lead writer Anthony Burch.

Axton was never intentionally written as a bisexual. It came about because of a hiccup in the writing process. Special dialogue was written for Axton when he revived either male or female Vault Hunters.

Initially, I wrote a bunch of character-specific reviving dialog so that if you revived Sal while playing as Axton, he might say, “on your feet, soldier,” but if you revived Maya, he’d say, “woah – do you, uh, work out?” -Anthony Burch

The character-specific code wasn't implemented, but the lines all stayed in the game. Axton would now have a slight chance of hitting on male characters.

Fans of the game were disappointed that Axton wasn't intentionally written as a bisexual, so in the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep DLC, Axton was confirmed as a bisexual.

"...some people on our forums expressed a bit of disappointment that he wasn’t intentionally bisexual, I put some more overt dialog in Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep to confirm that, actually, yes – dude is bisexual." -Anthony Burch

I don't have the footage of it, but when you play as Axton on Assault on Dragon's Keep, towards the end of the story Axton says he will spend his money on, "Guns and Ladies. And sometimes dudes."

Dude is pansexual. You ever hear him talk to his turret?

He might also be one of the other things Dan Aykroyd described here...

Also, when tring to find the quote, I came upone a few other sorces that contradict what Anthony said. It was a quote from an interview in a X-box magazie saying that "We wanted to make him bisexual, but we were afraid of the backlash from the fans." or something like that.

I think I would go with what the lead writer says.
