So, this one time, I got crabs...
At a Red Lobster..
But this isn't the time to tell you about how I got crabs. Long story short, depression sucks (and I know a handful of you on here know what I'm talking about).

What am I doing? Where have I been? Great questions!

Here's the thing, I'll get to all that in a vent thread or somewhere else. Instead, I'm here to talk about what I've been up to the past three months. On the first Monday of November, I was let go from my job (six years, Senior Electronic Technician) and sat around in the frozen wasteland of Minnesota depressed as fuck (because fuck the snow).

Anyways, it's almost 6:00 AM here (no, you go to bed SERIOUSLY THOUGH) and I thought I would share what I have been doing since I've been laid off. (Spoiler: I play with LASERS!)

I just created a Custom Overlay for 4:3 Gameplay only.

This Custom Overlay has a 4:3 Screen, Webcam, and Chat Box.

All you need is GIMP or any Image Editor that supports XCF File. Then you can add any background image you want. Then save as a image.

The image will be 3840x2160 (4K). If you're running in lower resolution. Just shrink it down on OBS or any Streaming Software you're using.

ANYWAY.

So I like characters. Two obscure characters named Min and Max. Min and Max have zero fanart. I'm also hardcore back into Batman: TAS and have a friend who indulges and encourages me. ...I kinda also revived an OC...

The result is me attempting to learn how to draw for the first time and I'm actually getting better at it (I promise, but I'm not gonna show the really bad first attempts even though this still sucks ><)

I still can't get the hang of trying to draw in Photoshop, but I gave it a shot.

I was under the influence by my friend to try to rejoin this site. Here is my selective series of work. Some are done in Sketchbook Pro then inked and colored in Photoshop. Some were inked traditionally with either double sided brush pens or Papermate flair pens, then colored in Photoshop. And others were done by my recent iPad Pro on Procreate. And some are done in Storyboard Pro. Any critique would be appreciated.

Also, for anyone's conveinence, I'm currently working on a web channel entitled Funbox featuring some original and fan-animations. Some art I'm posting here include characters from said animations. I worked with a numerous amounts of actors, some are top in their field and am greateful to make this dream a reality. I'm also working on a comic series called Kaiju Believe which is pretty much my answer to the monster-catching genre of Pokemon with a dash of .hack// and fairy tales. The comic can be found in Tapastic.com and Webtoons.com.

Anyway, here's some of my art:

Chase Catsup, the main star of Kaiju Believe. There's no rhyme and reason for anything he does. He tends to act random at times. Also, he's King Arthur's descendant. He loves eating mayonnaise sandwiches, listens to weird polka and enjoys pickle critiquing. His Kaijewel is Buzz Bunny.

Crossfire Fox, a recurring character in the comic. A Pyropandor (Kaijewel species) with an appetite for blowing things up. He was inspired by Rockoon from TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise. I received great advice from Deven Mack, Rockoon's voice actor and writer, on how to make the character better. He even contributed to an issue idea, and I commissioned Chris Niosi (creator of TOME and voice of Kirbopher/Zetto) to draw both Rocky and Cross. Fun Fact: Chase was originally suppose to be a Kid Goku rip off character named Kung for an entirely different pitch but after the upfront on OK KO!'s release, it was scrapped all together.

A really old pic of mine from two years ago; Sam and Zooky; stars of my FunBox short, Pair of Pains. Back then, originally named Patriot Pals, they were humans before Sam became a cat and Zooky was a dog. Sam is voiced by Vic Mignogna (Broly on DBZ / Edward Elric on FMA) and Zooky is voiced by Nick Afanasiev aka Tongue Boy.

Tyrone of Ownage Pranks. A fun fact is that I forgot to change the dpi to 300 so I kinda inked him when he was in 100 so it looks ugly.

But Ownage himself didn't mind. He later used him, and my Rakesh design, for a JumpCut Academy promo he did which is no longer available.

I remembered this Disney XD show, Kirby Buckets. It had potential if it stuck to the focus on the episode where Kirby had a magic pen that makes his art come to life. But it had to choose the Lizzy McGuire route. I didn't care for the third season because it killed (literally) the drawings in the first episode and primary focused on the live cast in alternative dimensions. It completely broke the realistic reality of the series. But here's some of the characters I drew. I even had the opportunity to interview voice artist Dean Julien who was Macho Taco, Dr. Gut Punch and Zip Zap among others.

A promo image I did in celebration of Mighty Magiswords announcement on it's TV debut. Drawn on Storyboard Pro and colored in Photoshop.

Back when I was in deviantArt, I frequently did these sketches on Storyboard Pro based on those promo art from Steven Universe. In these, I crossed over the series with my selective FunBox characters. Here's Jasper sitting with Roy Sherwood (from my upcoming OAV Pink Roy; voice of Antoine Dodson) who is eating soba noodles.

Also back in DA, I did this pic of an alternative reality of Steven Universe where there is a normal Beach City. No Diamond Authority. No Gem War. No Cluster. No Kindergarten (Prime or Beta). No Human Zoo. No Rebellion. Nothin. Diamond/Crystal Gems lived in harmony with the humans. So, I did a revision of that pic with updated designs in order to get a close remembrance of the characters today. For example, originally Peridot was taller with her mechanic implants because back when, when I made the original, it was before she became a Crystal Gem.

Disclaimer: NO! The BFF shirts on Ruby and Sapphire does not symbolize that they are on an anti-platonic relationship and that I am against LGBT or lesbian relationships. Fusions have no change from different realities so while Garnet remains the same, the difference between Ruby and Sapphire from the original and normal dimension is that they rarely fuse. They are still in love. The shirts were a poke fun of CN's censorship of their relationship.

For Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson's Cutie Saturday, here's Morbidia from Mighty Magiswords in a bikini. Fun fact is that Arin himself voices Morbidia's partner and friend, Gateaux, amung other characters in the series.

A memorial to C. Martin Croker (animator / voice of Zorak) who passed away. Here's his characters that he played on Adult Swim: Moltar, Zorak, Young Man, Dr. Weird and Steve.

Meet Diva Dynomite and her expressions. She is the hyperactive superdiva in my upcoming FunBox short of the same name. She was inspired by Anneva and Foreva from TOME, Haruko Haruharu from FLCL, Koto and Juri from Yu Yu Hakusho, Nekoneko from Parody Rangers, Radical Edward from Cowboy Bebop and others. Jackie Florian of 9.18 the Fan voices her. She previously played Anneva in TOME. I even commissioned Chris Niosi to draw her on his birthday. Vambre from Mighty Magiswords dressed as a cat. I used Nekoneko from Parody Rangers as reference. I always see her do that face in some epps. I don't know if it's Luke Ski's or Ken Mitchroneys doing.

A series of expressions I did for my character Rapid Rodent, who is also appearing in a FunBox short. I am actually currently deciding on the final voice of this character. I won't reveal the actor in particular who I might see as the final choice, but I wouldn't necessarily call him an unknown. However, I did recently record Chris Niosi for the character Doctor Dreary in the same short.

And lastly, here's TN-Ted; the sad, pathetic clown character who will be the recurring butt of the joke in Kaiju Believe. I based him off of Melvin from Ralph Bakshi's Malcom and Melvin with the influence of Grover from Sesame Street. The recurring skit would be that he would be a waiter or conceirge at a dining establishment ala "Waiter Grover" such as the recurring Charlie's restaurant and his frequent character would be my Cloud Strife-influenced character in the comic, Strifyus. Strifyus would often suffer from TN-Ted's shenanigans and hot headed ness and other times it's the other way around where Strifyus causes the problems on his own.

Making this so I have some place to put some of my art. Primarily pixel art.

Most of what I draw is usually my avatar but I do at times draw some other stuff when inspiration strikes.

Like when I draw a waving animation

Or when I try to replicate something out of Darkest Dungeon.

Other times I just try to make a new avatar from what I had last time.

Certainly interesting to see what one can do using one basic color and their shades.

Christmas is soon, might as well Santa up those avatars.

Post any image you'll be using for a profile (can be here, can be anywhere else) and I'll put a hat on the lucky guy/gal.

Try and make it a person/animal/thing. I don't really want to be putting a hat on an inanimate object or a picture of space or something.

Also specify if you want a real hat or the drawn one on your avatar.

This is the drawn hat I use for reference, as for the real ones I find them off Google.

I've very recently started using GIMP since I thought it was finally time to move on from MS Paint, and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. This is a pretty simple concept, really. All you've got to do is put in a suggestion for what to draw. Your suggestion will be honored when you yourself have entered a submission. Take your time and be be chill. This isn't a race. Its just a way of showing how different styles can affect a subject. Now, in regards to the subjects. Have at it, but there's a right to veto here. You never know who's looking at these, ya know?

Mass Effect Pokemon

This is just a silly idea I had, and I figured I'd extend it to the community if anyone is interested. I am thinking about drawing the squads from Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3. My only stipulation is that there needs to be a reason for that person to be that Pokemon, and they evolve with each game iteration.

Not final, but here's my example.

Commander Shepard. Shepard = herder of sheep. Shepard is in 3 games. Shepard has 3 forms. So

Kaiju Believe Characters

I'm currently doing a weekly web comic strip on Webtoons.com called Kaiju Believe. It's basically a whole Pokemon-esque "monster collecting" genre battle with a mix of .hack//, Megaman and more. So far, I'm focusing more on the video game-esque style on the story but after time comes by, I want to focus on the Kaijus again.

Here are some characters that I'm quite proud of:

Chase Catsup - The human protagonist, a 15-year old Arab American boy who is the biggest nerd you've ever seen. He spends his allownaces and his paycheques on video game releases and outright geeky things such as a polka festival or a pickle tasting smorgasboard. But, he's willing to use his Kaijewel to protect the innocent. KB actually evolved from a failed internet pitch called "Eon Chef", which was a pre-cursor to Kaiju Believe, but it didn't fit the demograph for the studio that I was pitching too. So, as suggested by my friend, I aged the character and made the idea to a web comic with full creative control.

Crossfire Fox - A Pyropandor Kaijewel who was formerly owned by Chase's nemesis Brad Starlight and currently owned by Jazz; the descendant of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Crossfire is part of an unknown organization with an unknown purpose, but enjoys cracking jokes and causing mischief all around the Kaiju Netzone. The influence of this little guy was a mix of Daffy Duck, Chris Tucker, Meowth and Yakko but his biggest inspiration was the character, Rockoon, from Christopher Niosi's Terrain of Magical Expertise, who is a 5-way tie of my favorite character on the show. I liked the character so much that a couple of days ago, I made 3 issues released in the same day based on Cross. Deven Mack, who voiced Rockoon, not only favored the pic of Cross and said he liked it but actually enjoyed the fact that while I based Cross on Rocky, I implanted several of my own original ideas that made the character special. He even gave me an idea for a potential future issue. I am forever greatful for that.

Shecky - A furry girl from Vietnam who is a frequent Kaijewel meister. She has an aggressive temper and side and often wants to fight people even though sometimes she loses, or she gets overbored. Despite this, she suffers from infantilism as she still wears diapers and drinks powdered milk from a bottle. She was created years prior to KB for my recently-developing web channel for a short that poked fun of the fursona genre. That sort of fell through. But my friend dug her up and I modeled her new form after Granda from TOME. Most of her personality is also based on my other friend who has Aspergers.

Simon Frost - Descendant of Jack Frost, he is Chase's best friend since kindergarten. He often has a habit of telling stories that no one seems to be interested in, but Simon has a secret power that no one has heard of. Simon was actually modeled after the Jack Frost portrayl in Rise of the Guardians but his personalities were taken from my older brother.

Peanut People

I'm trying to get a good stock of characters in a list for my new little pet project.

I'm calling them "Peanut People" for now.

It doesn't matter how detailed, obscure, or strange they are. If the character comes from a fictional medium that has a visual depiction, I want to try to turn them into a peanut person. So, I'd be thankful for the perspective and ideas.

My roommate and I have a YouTube channel around drinking and gaming. We call it Games and Growlers.
Today, I came up with one idea and my roommate came up with another (I created both).
Not saying who came up with what, but I would like opinions from this community (exclusively this community!) to see what everyone else thinks.
These are for the Icon in our channel to identify who we are.
