the knight armor you get in dead rising 3 looks slightly similar to the one on the super ghouls n ghosts box cover

This is just clutching at straws. It looks like knight armour.
It isn't a reference to Chivalry, Narnia, A Knight's Tale, The Black Knight, Monty Python, or any other media that contains armour of a similar nature. It's just armour.
