SSB: Melee/Terranigma music similarties

I was on youtube yesterday listening to some awesome video game OST's when I came across a main theme for a game called Terranigma which was released in 1995 for Super NES in Japan and Europe only.
The first segment sounded a bit familiar.

Connecting this similarity further together is the fact the PAL version of Terranigma was actually published BY Nintendo.
Weird.
I also noticed the Melee Menu theme also resembles a segment of the Bowser's Road music from Super Mario 64.

But Terranigma definitely sounds more like it.
