Interesting Pokemon Pokedex Entries
#1
This thread was inspired by one of the trivia entries for Pokemon Black/White posted by DidYouKnowGaming: "According to the Pokedex entry for Darumaka in Pokemon White, people used to keep themselves warm by putting its droppings in their clothes." Also, me and a few classmates were discussing this yesterday, so I thought it'd be cool to see some pretty awesome pokedex entries without wading through entries for 649+ pokemon.

Do you have a favorite pokedex entry for a pokemon? One that is funny, disturbing, or just plain weird? I personally like some of the entries for Drifloon: (Pearl) "It tugs on the hands of children to steal them away. However, it gets pulled around instead." and (HG/SS)"It is whispered that any child who mistakes DRIFLOON for a balloon and holds on to it could wind up missing." Talk about slightly creepy.

Yamask's entry from Black really creeps me out
"Each of them carries a mask that used to be its face when it was human. Sometimes they look at it and cry."

I really like the Exeggutor line. Exeggcute are born from Exeggutor decapitation, Exeggcute start to become mutilated when soon to evolve and will attack people in groups if startled. Plus, they're both telepathic.
They're also from an unspecified tropics.

I still find it creepy how one of the Dodrio entries mention that heads isn't the only thing it has 3 of.

The habitat dex, in Black and White 2, was really useful and fun to fill up.

As for specific entries, Yellow had a lot of interesting ones if I recall correctly.

Randomly, Marowak has some pretty cool entries too. They did a good job at establishing it's character. For example:
Gold- It has been seen pounding boulders with the bone it carries in order to tap out messages to others.
Crystal- Somewhere in the world is a cemetery just for Marowak. It gets its bones from those graves.
RSE- Marowak is the evolved form of a Cubone that has overcome its sadness at the loss of its mother and grown tough. This Pokémon's tempered and hardened spirit is not easily broken.

I don't really look at the entries that much.

I'll just view them once or twice and then move on.

I liked Rhyperior infodex. Shooting out geodudes like there was no yesterday. And Totes explain how Geodudes came to be.

What I got from the Diamon/Pearl entry is that he merely puts Geodudes instead of rocks into his hands by accident at times.

You do realize each dex entry are different by each game?
I was also playing with the "totes" thing because my friend and I wanted to trade with each other since he wanted a Electivire(he had an Electabuuz w/Electirizer) and I a Rhyperior(Rydon w/Protector),so when he read the dex entry(he has HeartGold and i had Platinum),he thought that is how geodudes came to be:

HeartGold Dex Entry:

From holes in its palms, it fires out Geodude. Its carapace can withstand volcanic eruptions.

Then we re-traded and i read my dex and i ruined his fun and since then, pulled a geodude joke once in awhile to commemorate that event.

I like reading the Pokedex but sometimes one has to take it with a pinch of salt.
An example is Shedinja - apparently looking at the hole on the back of its body steals your soul - yet trainers view the back of it with no problems.
But it's still interesting to view info about Pokemon.
