Sonic the Hedgehog CD (or Sonic CD) was at one point in development called "CD Sonic the Hedgehog" as shown by the title screen of prototype 510.

This name for Sonic CD was oddly used in a remix called "Sonic 6290 Mix", a remix of Sonic CD music found in Sonic Gems Collection (a compilation featuring Sonic CD), in which a robotic voice refers to Sonic CD as "CD Sonic the Hedgehog."
