Etrian Mystery Dungeon's Wanderer Class

Been playing quite a bit of Etrian Mystery Dungeon the past few days, and the new Wanderer class has quickly become my favorite of the bunch, though I think its design and concept were meant to be a clever nod to the Shiren the Wanderer series.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon was developed by Atlus and Spike Chunsoft. Come to find out, Atlus published the third Shiren the Wanderer game in the US, and Spike Chunsoft was the team behind behind the Shiren the Wanderer: Mystery Dungeon series as a whole, so both companies are tied to the franchise.

Even then, the physical resemblance between Shiren and the Wanderer class is remarkably similar:
