Despite the costumes and theme from the animated film are used in the stage for the Yellow Submarine song, the submarine itself is a completely original design not seen before.

Now some people say this is due to copyright issues but both the original design of the Submarine from the film as well as a Blue Meanie can be seen in the game's opening.
