Street Fighter series - The legacy of the SF2 movie
#1
Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie was well received among fans of the games, and is generally considered to be far superior to the live-action film which followed it. Though the movie's events do not seem to be acknowledged by the main games' storyline, many of the details were included in later games, in particular the Street Fighter Alpha series.

1.The grass field in Australia where Ryu fights Sagat at the beginning of the movie is the stage for Sagat's final battle against Ryu in the Arcade mode of Street Fighter Alpha 2, complete with lightning in the background.

2.While the Monitor Cyborgs have yet to be seen in the main games, their biography are included in the Japanese Street Fighter V website along with a character artwork.

I would like to add that Violent Ken from SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is a nod to Brainwashed Ken from the SF2 movie. In the game, though, he became evil through Orochi and not Psycho Power. http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Violent_Ken

9.The VTOL jet that Bison used in the movie is seen in some endings in the Alpha series. It is also seen in Bison's stage in Street Fighter Alpha 2.

He only appareared on the crossovers doe, not in the canon games so i put the "violent ken" thing as a different submission.

True, which is why I thought you left it out in the first place. I just had to mention it because it's one of my favorite things from the movie :D

Yeah... that doens't seems to be the case anymore. You see, contrary to popular belief of the western fandom, the first appearance of a Brainwashed (Violent) Ken wans't in the SFII Animated film, but rather, the Kanzaki SFII manga. http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/c...t_11147596

Oh, and the Brainwashed Ken from 'SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos' didn't became evil because of Orochi's influence, that's a common misconception. He actually became evil because of (surprise!) Psyco Power.
