New 3DS focused Nintendo Direct September 1st
#1
At 7 AM PT Nintendo will have a 3DS focused Direct probably with the intent to talk about games they won't be focusing on at Tokyo Game Show which is coming the 15th to the 18th. The NX is likely to be the focus at TGS so this makes a lot of sense. I suspect we'll see games like Ever Oasis, possibly Gurumin 3D, Phoenix Wright, Dragon Quest VII and VIII, Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse, Yokai Watch 2, some nindie titles, maybe some Pokemon Sun and Moon, and maybe even a new game or two. So, any hopes for this direct?

So, since no one posted anything here in reaction to the Direct, I will give it a bit of a rundown. First off, Mario has three games coming the 3DS, and they are the already known Mario Party: Star Rush, a new Mario Sports game called Mario Sports Superstars, and a limited but still palpable version of Mario Maker. Star rush will have 9 party modes, some of which that were talked about during today's trailer. Mario Sports Superstars will include 5 different Mario Sports games, which are Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Horse Racing and true 11 vs 11 Fútbol. The Mario Maker 3DS version will include 100 pre-made levels from Nintendo and while creating and sharing Mario Maker levels isn't going to be as convenient or easy as the Wii U version, having one at all is a step in the right direction.

Mario Maker was not the only Wii U game to get a port to the 3DS today, as Yoshi's Wholly World will also be on the 3DS, and include everything from the Wii U version including Poochy. There will also be several Stop-Motion animated shorts being made with Yoshi and Poochy, and the 3DS version of the game will include 30 of them. Finally, Poochy is getting his own Amiibo and it will be made to look like the Yoshi Amiibo that came out when the game launched on the Wii U.

There are a lot of other Amiibo coming such as a Link that looks like the retro Mario Amiibo, pixelated and all, a Link playing the famed Ocarina, and a two pack of Amiibo featuring Toon Link and Zelda from the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. These amiibo will be compatible with other Zelda games, possibly even the digital version of Skyward Sword that's being released for the Wi U, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The dark Alolan Rattata we all thought was coming was confirmed, as well as a Munchlax, who will come with the game and have the Z item for Snorlax allowing it to use the Z-move seemingly Exclusive to Snorlax.

Animal Crossing New Leaf is getting a free update that will allow for the AC Amiibo and Amiibo cards to be matched to the game as well as with new content. A new version of the game called Animal Crossing New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo, which will give you one of 50 new Amiibo cards. Also, unmentioned in the direct itself, Amiibo that work for Happy Home Designer and the Wii U "Amiibo Festival" game can be used in both titles, allowing new neighbors to join Happy Home, designs of homes you make tied to Amiibo to appear on the Wii U.

Pikmin is coming to the 3DS in 2017 with a Puzzle Platformer game with no official title as of yet.

There was more but those are the highlights. Check out the whole thing yourself if you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpXQtFbRChg
