Hard to think I'm not that hyped for something from Nintendo. Yet here I am awake at 3:30am waiting for it.

Looks like the leak was right.

Here are the upcoming games.

>Has Been Heroes - Indie viking style action game. Being developed by Frozenbyte (Shadwen, Nine Parchments).
>Fast RMX - Fast Racing NEO redone on Switch with new content.
>Snipperclips - Small title that uses the two joycons for two players. That's all I know.
>Splatoon 2 - It's a sequel, not just a port.
>Super Bomberman R - Surprise!
>Arms - Fantasy fighting game. All characters are themed and have long arms with different powers/effects. Art style very reminiscent of The Wonderful 101, may be developed by Platinum Games.
>Disgaea 5 Complete - Original game with all DLC
>Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers - Port with new content.
>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Port with new content.
>Super Mario Odyssey - New 3D Mario title. Logo has a plane in it, implying a new flight mechanic.
>Zelda BoTW
>Just Dance 2017
>Skylanders Imaginators
>1 2 Switch - The Switch's minigame compilation, showcasing the tech. Games include (don't know exact names) Samurai Training, Wild West Shootout, Crack the safe, milk, ball catch and copy the beat.

For some reason, I thought the presentation was tomorrow and only caught the BOTW trailer in a 240p laggy youtube stream.

Alright time for the big boy opinions.

I'd give the presentation a 7.5/10. While I'm still weary on the whole system, seeing some games made me feel slightly better about the whole thing.

Release date is my birthday, March 3rd worldwide, at around $299, so £249 would be my bet for Europe. Currently the only games that will release on the day are Zelda, 1-2 Switch and Arms. I might be off by a few, but I know those will be the ones for sure.

The games shown ranged from meh to really interesting. A new SMT game that's just in development was announced for the Switch, a new Mario game supposedly set in New York with Mario 64 esque world gameplay was announced, looks really good. Splatoon 2 as well. Xenoblade 2 and a new Fire Emblem were announced. No More Heroes sequel was announced along with that, so that'll be good.

Personally, it looks as good as the Wii U did when it was announced. So take that as you will. I'll probably get it day one for Zelda, it'll keep me occupied for a long time.

Biggest fucking blunder though, you now have to pay for online. Thanks Microsoft and Sony.

My wishes for the system overall is that Nintendo will try and bring back some old titles to the system. I'd love to see a new F-Zero or Metroid on the system, or for them to get their third parties to bring something onto there. Sega have tons of IP's for the taking, so they should really look into them the most.

Paying for the right to use my internet that I already pay for? and I'm no longer interested.

I'm getting a bit of a Roger Rabbit vibe on seeing Mario in a realistic looking city.

A truly open world Mario, a new console games for both SMT and Fire Emblem, Xenoblade Chronicles II, Dragon Quest Hero's I and II, and Splatoon II, I am sold, thank you very much. Rating the presentation, I give it a solid 8/10, the opening was not all that great, and that one translator was the worst I've ever seen. However, showing the system off at different cites for 6 different locations, and seeing the addition of new characters in Street Fighter 2 when it hits the switch (not confirmed in the presentation but elsewhere) and just overall way it was handled, it was great. I loved it. It's also worth mentioning that Rayman Legends and I am Setsuna will be on the Switch as well, there's also No More Hero's, Sonic Mania, the list goes on and it's spectacular for a launch.

I guess Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a thing as well, but it doesn't have a release date and it doesn't confirm what the Deluxe means which makes me wonder if it iwll have all the DLC at launch or not. It does seem like it will though.

There's also the new Square Enix IP called Project Octopath. Looks interesting.

Great, just what we needed, ANOTHER version of Street Fighter 2... ugh.

Dear Capcom: instead of updating SFII (a game that is already competent by itself), why not update that one game? You know, the one that should be updated.

EDIT: Violent Ken being canon kinda pleases me. Evil Ryu's presence in SF2 falls in line with his SF4 story.

Sonic Mania's Collector Edition is coming to the Switch: http://wwg.com/2017/01/13/sonic-mania-ge...do-switch/ So that's two confirmed collector's editions, no bundles. I have that right? Seems a bit odd.

Whelp, never mind that previous comment, Regi explained the lack of bundles, an oddly specific story to get lost among all the other news though: http://gameranx.com/updates/id/88470/art...dled-game/

Well crap. I tried to pre-order a Switch online and is currently out of stock. I can physically show up to a few places around here to check if there are any reservations available, but I'll have to leave town. Crap.

I'm going to be honest, Odyssey is everything that I've wanted from the Mario series for the past few years and more. I'm definitely going to play it.

Sounds like Konami. Also makes sense why the game is fairly cheap. It'll make stupid people think it costs less if they do that.

We just had a discussion about this on the Barrel-Cat Gaming Podcast (pst, check out the thread on it for the link).
I have my system pre-ordered right away this morning. Apparently the public isn't too hyped about it.
