The Jungle Book was the last animated film Walt Disney personally supervised; it was released 10 months after his death.

Miramax Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein once purposed making changes to Princess Mononoke to make it more marketable. Upon hearing this Hayao Miyazaki's producer for the film, Toshio Suzuki sent him an authentic Japanese Katana and a note that simply said "No cuts".

Keith Relf, lead guitarist of The Yardbirds, died doing what he loved. At the age of 33, he was killed by a faulty guitar that he was playing that electrocuted him to death.
Edit: Had to throw in another music fact. Jah Wobble was the bassist of Public Image Limited. After leaving the band, he wound up working for the London Underground and at one point starting repeating over the PA "I used to be somebody, I repeat, I used to be somebody."

In what is considered an opposite influence effect, The Matrix drew some of it's inspiration from Ghost in the Shell. The green text with a black background that was made famous in the west was a direct reference to a similar happening in the Ghost in the Shell anime. The Wachowskis pitched the idea to the producer saying, "They wanted to do that for real" making reference to that design and the idea of a cybernetic influenced world. The reason this is considered an opposite influence, is because Japan often takes influence from other culture's such as the animation for Big O being taken from Bruce Timm's animated works, the characters from fairy tail being influenced by J.R.R. Tolkien and "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure" using several band names, songs and members names from Western Culture.

Pluto is the Roman God of The Underworld, and Roman Gods are heavily influenced by Greek Gods, more or less being the same with a different name. The Greek God of The Underworld is named Hades.

^In one episode of Hercules: The animated series, Hades goes on a range about the name pluto(and even says 'what kind of a person names a dog pluto??" referencing not just the Disney character but Mickey Mouse as well).

Doesn't he say "I wouldn't even name my dog Pluto!"? I thought he said that after getting super upset about being given the name.

According to Pop Up Video on VH1 in the late 90's early 00's, one of their pop up information bubbles stated, during Michael Jackson's "Beat It", that 85% of males do just that by the age 15.

I'm not sure. I could have made a mistake with that quote. I don't have a lot of memories about Hercules the animated series apart from a few bits of pieces here and there.

Greg Weisman actually took part in a panel that answered dirty Gargoyles related questions. I'm not kidding.

Did you know that most of weaknesses of vampires were added by the Dracula movies? Originally, vampires only had a few rules (I may be missing a few):
1. Can't go into houses unless invited in.
2. Can't pass though running water (then meaning a stream or river).
3. Sunlight takes away powers, not kills them.
4. They can turn into a number of different animals including a wolf and a bat.
5. The only ways to kill one is to cut off it's head and stab it though the heart or shoot it in the heart with a silver/regular (I don't remember witch one it is) bullet.

As time has gone on, rules have been changed (sunlight now kills them instead of removes there powers and they can only become bats) and more and more weaknesses have been added, to the point that I'm surprised they can't be killed by the common cold.

I wanted to add this becuse, apparently, everyone still thinks that Twilight is adding stupid rules (Dracula started it first), Dracula is the first Vampire (he was not), and the water rule does not exist (this one coming from the NC's BloodRyane review). It also shows you how much infomation gets lost as time goes along.
