Wip3out - How it came to be
#1
In the book Classic Gaming: Volume 3 by GamesRadar+, the game Wip3out was made as a result of the overwhelming success made in Wipeout 64. Unfortunately, Psygnosis had a very tight schedule and low budget, especially with the then-upcoming PlayStation 2. Artists made 20 tracks for the game, but only 8 were used in the final version. According to lead designer Wayne Imlach, the criteria for selection was not only down to overall skill requirements but to provide advantages and disadvantages to the different craft manufacturers with tighter tracks favoring the slower yet nimbler ships.
