Big the Cat in Sonic Franchise Retired?

Still am desperately seeking trivia to post for the Sonic Franchise whole that actually would be considered as Trivia, but these previous attempts failed:

I hope this is considered as trivia. In 2012 it was announced that Big the Cat would officially be retired from the franchise (for the time being) from Ken Balough as they could not not find a good use for him, nothing worked out of all the things they tried:

This however did not stop Big from having a cameo in Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, the 3DS Version of Smash 4 and Sonic Runners. More games could come in the coming years:
