Like in the Wii U Version of Smash 4, Ultimate gives titles to fighters in the Boxing Ring stage from Punch Out. To those not featured in Smash 4, these are references given to some of them:
*Snake: The Legendary Mercenary (A title given to both Snake and Big Boss, fitting Snake's own hybrid appearance in Smash design)
*Pokemon Trainer: Wants to be the Very Best (An Obvious Reference to the first line of the Theme Song to the Pokemon Anime):
*Ridley: Cunning God of Death (This references the title he was given on the Official Japanese Website of Metroid: Zero Mission)

I won't post about this though until Ultimate's Full Roster is confirmed, and once we get to see the full lineup of Boxing Ring Titles, or if someone beats me to it with posting of this come Ultimate's release. Once those not yet confirmed are shown that do contain a reference are shown (Dark Samus, Daisy, Pichu, Young Link, Chrom, Wolf, Simon, Richter, King K Rool, and so fourth), I'll add to this.
