A Way Out has an easter egg that references the director of the game Josef Fares. Fares is represented by an NPC whom he voices himself, that can be found standing near a vending machine during the hospital scene of the game.

When approaching this NPC with Leo Caruso (one of the main protagonists) should the player choose the response 'You need help', the NPC voiced by Fares will end the conversation with the line, "F_ _ _ the Oscars" which is also another reference to Josef Fares bizarre behavior during The Game Awards 2017 in which he said that exact line.
