According to series producer Jim Boone, the inspiration for the Saints Row reboot was based on the films John Wick, Baby Driver, and Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw. Boone stated that the film John Wick influenced the brutal combat and melee battle sequences, while the film Baby Driver inspired the driving mechanics, and how stunts work in the game are based on the action scenes from Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw.
