I'm trying to change my avatar, but...

I'm trying to change my avatar to this:
Its the same as my current avatar, just floating up and down. The problem is that it's too big. Is it possible to make it smaller?

You mean kind of like this?

It can be done in photoshop, but do you honestly need to have a .gif avatar?

Actually, doing it in Photoshop is very difficult. Opening an animated gif only opens the first frame and they stripped most of the animation features from Photoshop many versions ago.

As for why he needs one? Why not?

We appreciate the input but this was posted 4 years ago. Without offering any suggestions or helpful comments related to the subject after such an extended period of time, your post is pretty much irrelevant.

If you have any Photoshop tips that can help, please share and we'd be glad to receive it. As a new member, there is a lot to see and a lot to catch up on; what's on the front pages of the forums and dates of the last posts of those threads will give you an idea what's currently being talked about. Browse and catch up and comment with the community. Welcome to the forums.

Both were bots - I never noticed it before but they added a link to what was likely a cracked version of Photoshop.
