The Walking Thread (SPOILERS!!)

I think we're getting Rick back. At least I hope so. Him and Daryl make an amazing team. I just hope he can hold himself together. I think they're all doing a better job at that, though (i'll get to that in a minute). Carl has grown up a lot. I hope they keep him like this, and don't turn him back into a little shit. I know people love to hate Carl, but just remember the type of world he's growing up in. He's supposed to be a kid.

This is something I have been meaning to talk about. I have a few friends and family members that watch the show and we talk back and forth about it. One thing we have brought up is Carl and how he has been acting. A thing that my sister has said is "He is a teenager growing up in the 'Walker Apocalypse.' So ofcorse he is going act like a brat." My brother is an ass and a brat all becuse he is a teenager. He's my brother, but I don't want him in my team becuse I know he wants to lead everyone but at the same time be lead. Now tell me, I you had a kid when the Apocalypse came, would you treat him like a baby and let him do what ever he wanted? No, you would make sure that little snot got in line fast and punish him (not sure how) if he got out of it. Now look at Carl, the kid how was about 10-12 when the apocalypse happened, has not acted like he was in danger onece, and shot an unarmed dude in the face. Now do you want to give him a gun? Granted he did do the right thing telling rick about "story time" but I think he needs more time showing us, the audience, that he deserves his gun back.

To be honest, I think Rick sees him similar to how Joel saw Ellie in The Last Of Us, someone in need of protecting at first, but developed and became a character that could defend themselves if given the option to.

I think there should be a part where Carl is separated from Rick, and has to defend a bunch of people (maybe the kids) it would be an interesting episode to see if Carl can actually lead a group.

I do like their group though, there are a lot of people I wouldn't want to die, but there is no one I truly hate.

Oh man. I was surprised by Carol. I really was, and how Rick just accepted it, since she's been there for so long and couldn't do anything to stop her, or punish her.

I did NOT see Carol coming. I should have, but I didn't. I'm usually really good about figuring shit out too. Not until she said "Yes." Even then I had to sit there and think "Did I imagine that? Or was it real?"

The car radio scene was not the same as it was in the season preview, and that upset me.

If Glenn or Hershel dies, I die.

Yeah, I'd hate to see them go, mostly because I actually learnt their names, and I usually refer to characters as a characteristic, and even then it means I like them.

I call Tyreese, Coach, since he is the voice actor for Coach in L4D2, and looks a lot like him.

I'm the same but only because I'm bad with names. This season, however, you really don't get attached to the people before they die, so you need to use "Fan names" like Ash for the guy who was set on fire. Example: When I saw a big group of people coughing, I went, "Your dead, your dead, your dead and your dead". When I saw Glen coughing, I went "Oh no not Glen!". I can tell you that I like Zach and Patrick more than I do the little girls, but I think I would not care for Zach if he had a different name because he had one character, "The doomed boyfriend". I can't wait to see them leave the prison and get on with the plot with whoever survives.

Also, the fuck, carol. Why do it?

As for this week, really good. Carol is now gone from the show. Will we see her again? I hope so. She's really a cool character and I don't want to see her go.

We now know that Bob is a drunk. He killed Zach because of his "I need a drink to go to sleep" condition. AND HE STILL HAS NOT LEARNED. Am I a bad person to want Daryl to push him to the Walkers? Maybe a little.

Michonne has given up on finding the Governor...... for now. Good idea? Bad idea?

Lastly, no filler characters (not counting the two characters that were character development for Carol) made this SO much better. I prefer when the ploy relevant people get to carry the story instead of us having to care about the nameless people being sick.

I was actually really bummed/surprised those kids didn't make it. They seemed like they had something else going on with them. Their story was kinda fishy to me. When the girl died, though, I gasped. I was so sad. Even though I didn't trust them, I WANTED to trust them, and seeing the girl dead really bummed me out. The guy is still technically MIA and could help Carol. Maybe.

The kids seemed way too innocent and not that bright to not be trustworthy. I was rooting for them. I'm tired of the writers bringing in characters and killing them in the same episode. And did anyone else think the girls leg looked like it had been severed, not ripped or chewed?

Rick was WAY in the wrong to banish Carol. I wouldn't say she is gone from the show, just gone from the group right now. I don't know why the writers hate women so much, but it's getting on my nerves. Carol (along with Daryl) were really the only ones left that were fit to be leaders, with Tyreese, Hershel, Maggie and Glenn as a perfect committee. Yes, what Carol did was awful, but it showed that she is able to make horrible decisions that everyone else avoids. There was a possibility to contain, and those two were suffering, so she took the chance. SHE has to live with that decision weighing on her conscience. Not to mention, she's a jack of all trades. She knows about food, basic nursing, survival, and many other things. And Rick just threw her away. He used his family as an excuse, which tells me if Carl or Judith got sick, he'd risk the health of the group for them. You have to be a special kind of strong (and sometimes heartless) to survive in this world, and Carol finally reached that point. Now she's gone. How she left shows just how strong she really is. They loaded her car, and she went on her way. No tears or over begging.

I knew Bob had a drinking problem form the first episode. I know he was on his own for a long time before Daryl found him, but I wonder if he also has some PTSD (wasn't it him that was in the Army or something?). My favorite part of the episode was when Daryl got in his face. I fucking LOVE the line he said, about "You drink one drop and this medicine don't get back to my people, i'm putting your ass in the ground." or something like that.

Rick wasn't in the wrong, he is just protected the group, he is actually PROTECTING Carol in a way, give her a chance with the walkers, or bide her time until Tyreese finds out. Also the writers don't hate women, I'm pretty sure there are a lot more men that have suffered cruel fates instead of Carol's, it gets on my nerves when people assume things that just aren't true.

The decision she made was not hers to make, she may have been protecting the group, but they were in lockdown for a reason, and all because she believed they were suffering, doesn't mean they are suffering, illness makes you look sweaty, makes you cough (albeit bloodly) and makes you feel horrible, but in no way should you decide to kill them just because you believe its for the best.

Also, the way she left the show doesn't show how strong she is, she is being forced too, after tears and a bit of begging, she knew she could not change Rick's mind, and had to leave. Rick would've probably done the same thing even if she wasn't as strong as she is now, and was similar to how she was in Season 1/2 (although, she probably wouldn't have done what she did in the first place). I'm not saying she isn't a strong character, but I'm just saying the way she left the show doesn't show she is a strong character, it's just showing she is understanding of the situation, and knows that she can't do anything to change Rick's mind.

Although, the skills she had were very useful, and it is a huge shame to see her go. I do agree that if Carl or Judith were sick, he would risk the life of the group for them, but I assume he would do that for anyone he liked, such as Glenn or Hershel.

Oh, and did anyone else find it odd how they left the rest of the medicine? Even if it did weigh you down, I would've taken as much as I could, even if it wasn't important.

WOW! A Hershel centered episode. Nice way to show him as more than the "Cranky old man" that he was it seemed they wanted to make him into. A more well rounded episode with the other characters being there to make it less of a bottle episode. Also seeing him brake down at the end was really sad.

Also, that episode was very good. It's probably one of the best, and the best of Season 4 right now.

Finally I saw the episode on the day it was actually shown. Good thing Fox started airing these on their original airing date here in Finland too.

I will now rename The Governor to The Captain for this post, as he looks way to much like a pirate to me.

This whole episode makes me want to care about The Captain but I really don't. These people may last long but if he does not do something to get them killed, I will really believe that he wants to change. I don't care what they want me to believe, you can't make someone mow down half the town and than say "Oh, well this guy has turned over a new leaf." Right and Hitler only killed a few people.

I really want to like this episode, because it is really well done and I love seeing the human side of characters that we know a little about. I love how he basically talks to the little girl about Chess and he describing what he did/is doing and she draws the eye-patch on the king piece. The grandfather on the oxygen tank makes me think of how well my step-father would have survived this if he was still alive (irony, I guess, since the character died). I want to think that The Captain will take the girls to Rick and the group to make them save (as far as he knows), but "I'm a 'glass half full' kinda guy."

Like I said I want to like this episode but there is this nagging feeling that this episode is going to bite these girls in the ass by the mid season finally.
