A story, in French, about women who insert stock cubes into their backside to make it more voluminous. This isn't a joke, they actually believe that putting the savour-cubes into their booty will make it perfect.
Put into Google translate or something, it's worth it :D

Of course, mines were planted quicker in Africa than trees are in California.

Not a huge deal, but I always liked Colonel Meow, even if his videos were stupid. That was one sharp looking cat.

Past 24 hours in a nutshell -

Truce agreed upon last night.
Truce flouted this morning.
21 dead so far today. One policeman also dead, not sure if part of the 21.
75 dead since Tuesday.
European Union imposes sanctions on the Ukraine.
In their parliament, Ukranian MPs voted to condemn the violence, most members present during the session are in the opposition.

It's just insane. The people protesting want to go towards the EU, the leaders want to go towards Russia.
Maybe this will lead to a split in the country, because the large regions of ethnic Russians are going to wake up if the Ukraine goes too far towards Europe and away from Russia.

An idea of the % of ethnic Russians by oblast in the Ukraine. As you can see, Kiev (the 25.4% there up top) is surrounded by other ethnicities, the majority of which want to join the EU.

I have a theory about the Malaysian Airlines flight.

No debris whatsoever, no mayday, the plane turned West before dropping off the radar, the engines are reported to have flown a few hours after dropping off the radar (according to the Americans and denied by the Malaysians).

I think that someone or a group of people took control of the plane, turned off all transponders and flew the plane to a remote island or landing strip where they are now negotiating with the Malaysian government for the release of the passangers.
Other countries are admonishing Malaysia for not deploying its full search & rescue potential. Perhaps Malaysia doesn't feel the need as it knows full well what happened. The authorities haven't told other countries, which annoys the USA and led to them divulging the fact that the engines kept flying for a few hours.

Certain family members said that they managed to get their loved ones phones to ring. However this is most likely due to the automatic ringing tone they hear as their signal gets bounced around various networks on their way to the last known placement of the target phone. If you call from China, the ringing tone will begin when you connect to your network, which then connects to the national Malaysian network which then patches through to the local towers.

I guess this counts as news. I hadn't heard about that rotten old "psychic" fraud Sylvia Browne for awhile so I looked her up; turns out she died. Too bad that's what it took to stop her profiting off people whose loved ones went missing but at least she can't hurt anyone anymore.

It was so convenient when a kid had been missing for several years since the chances were they'd been murdered. Worked out pretty well for her to say that until one of them was found.
