A Navy training jet crashed in Tellico Plains, TN. This is in the county I live in.

Damn, hope it didn’t land anywhere populated.

It landed in the mountains. It's a tourist area, so it sees a good amount of population, but I don't know if it affected visitors to the waterfall or where I went camping last month.

There were 2 people aboard and they both died. I heard on the radio this morning that they were both identified.

Beginning in 2018, California will tender harsher penalties for pronoun-violations than for knowingly infecting someone with HIV

It is clear that the California Gov. has his priorities mixed up.

Yes, pronoun-violations are rude, but that's about it; it won't kill anybody.

On the other hand, knowingly infecting someone with HIV is pretty close to poisoning.

Also, this quote from the article:

“The most effective way to reduce HIV infections is to destigmatize HIV,” Weiner told CNN. “To make people comfortable talking about their infection, get tested, get into treatment.”

I mean, sure that may very well be the case. But, what does that have to do with knowingly/deliberately infecting people with it? Those two things are very different.

Oh well. I guess nowadays a mild offense is considered worse that damaging someone else's health with an incurable disease .
