John Adessi will go along with the group and try to find a way out, but he won't trust Slade.
Zed will go investigate the lights. He will try to hide to make sure they are not dangerous.

Also, seeing as we're in the 20's, I'd like to change my guy from randomly making furniture to having a respectable knowledge of modern weapon technology.
Edit: Nevermind, realized we're going with the time plot. Happy to see i'm from the future.

That's up for debate if you want to be from a particular time period.
Reed, drawing from an Orwellian fear, attempts to convince the others that caution be taken in this event. He's all too familiar with an intervening confederacy.
(I'm alright with 30th. I like being the potential techy, I usually am in stuff like this)
Reed keeps his crystal close, and he inspects the situation, prodding for a weak point.
Slade looks around to see if he could get out of sight. He keeps his crystal close to him in case he has to transport.
Zed stays on target and follows Him. Best case scenario, it's a save haven who can help us (doubt it) and worse case scenario, Him may need help getting out of trouble.
Him burrows halfway to the wall and proceeds to tear off part of his shorts left leg and throw it over the wall as a decoy.
John Adessi will walk towards the direction that the purple beams came from, and not be afraid to face what is there.
Next Episode should be up tomorrow. I'm on Day 2 of a two day assignment at the moment.
