To start off I don't want the arguments to continue, and I'm not trying to continue them myself, but I feel like I need to say something now since it did continue after I tried to diffuse it. This is more of an open letter to A Zombie Riot. Why open you may ask, because I feel that this needs to be stated publicly and not in the PMs. Also please no one reply to this except Zombie as this is directed at him, and not you, and any replies besides his will almost certainly be volatile.
Alright, first off yes A Zombie Riot, you apologized and said you could have handled it better and that other people could have too, this is true, but at the same time why are you getting defensive in your apology saying "but a few members, not going to name names, could have handled some things a bit better than they have." Why even mention the other people in your apology, why did that part need to be there? The only reason why I pose this question is because Zombie YOU were the one who originally provoked Hex, it was a little debate until this line.
So I don't understand why you of all people should be getting defensive, you were the one at fault in the first place.
As for the new rule or specification on the rule I agree with Psychospacecow in that this new rule can be abused, saying "no provoking" is very subjective, and I'm not saying you in particular would abuse it, but other more unprofessional people might, and I have no idea who will be mods in the future, but all it takes is one bad mod to ruin a forum and that rule just leaves them a way to start banning people for "provoking." Also when you were done stating the new rule in the apology thread you got super defensive there too, and even made an infraction on the new rule, not 30 minutes after you made it, with this quote. "Remember what you posted earlier this week? Yeah, that would be considered trolling." That is very directive and can be considered provoking Psychospacecow, as you specified something that he said and said it in a very snarky manner. Even later you said that Psychospacecow's post earlier referred to was not a good example and was a misunderstanding. So why even use it as the example anyway? Also after you were called out by Xannidel on your own provoking with him saying "And what do you call that Zombie? You are riling him up to be defensive like that doesn't help at all." and you replied with "I was giving him an example. And this is a perfect example of provoking." I do not see how that was provoking he was simply saying that you had already provoked someone and that, that kind of defensive behavior didn't help the situation at all. And then after Psychospacecow said "Riot, this is what I'm saying if you haven't been reading my posts. You're using a case that was not in fact as you describe, and you know it, and now you go against Xannidel with this rule after he pointed it out in a debate over whether this thing be just or otherwise." you come back and say "It's already done. End of story." For one, NO, it's not done as you are a mod and you can always change it back, and two, that is one of the most immature responses I've ever seen, that's the response that you get from a parent when you've backed them into a corner and there's basically no denying that they're in the wrong, but they're too stubborn to admit it.
So A Zombie Riot, I have one more thing to say and that is that YOU are the mod, you are the one who has to be level headed and not throw fits, you have to be more mature than any of the rest of us because you are the one with authority, but from all of the things I've seen today it seems that you were not living up to your duty today and were being very immature, so please clean up your act, think before you post things, and try to be the guy that offends no one and is the most mature out of us all. Now I know that's a request that can't always be upheld, but at least own up to your mistakes when you make them, that apology was very well said until you got defensive, you obviously knew you were at fault because you apologized, but being defensive isn't apologizing, it's trying to justify yourself. So please just own up to your mistakes, change the rule back, and stop this nonsense.

It's funny that no one complains about them changing, but when video games change, everyone loses their minds! Video gaming is no different.
Because in my case it's a bunch of shit I don't need, nor will I use. My wage won't change just because I need an extra $200 for a gaming system. I will never understand why folks need all the extra garbage.
Then don't use it. It's as simple as that. Watching TV on your Xbox One isn't required. It's not like you HAVE to use it to do anything else. It's an option.
Will I use it? No. I have no needs for it so I couldn't care less about it.
That doesn't change that I have to pay for it.
