We have seen "great" plots with Mario Galaxy but go back to the boring plots after that and try to make up for great characters like Rosalina with a comic relief purple Luma. You ought to give them a shot. I honestly think they are the best main series pokemon games we have so far.

What? Has Z been confirmed or something? Because if not, I'll call that "legendary" a hoax.

Black and White 2 did that to some extent but not as much as the first ones. Those two games though have changed my expectations in a way that am hoping the team is good plot device and has characters I actually care about like N. In some way or another, the story should at least be on par with the previous games, else this generation, at least for me will fall a bit short. Whenever they start making a plot, it comes off as stupid. Black/White Team Plasma or whatever: We hate Pokemon being used for fights. Now let's send a clear message and fight... ....with our Pokemon!

But your right, the only time they made a really good plot is when there wasn't any and they had you make theories about it. Gary's Raticate, anyone? Pokemon really dosn't have a plot and does not need it. Black and White's plot is still kinda cool though, even with the dumbness attached to the team.

An ironic post considering PETA made their own pokemon game for gen 5.

IGN's review is up, and as unreliable sellouts as they are, at least it shows off some gameplay and a few cool new features.
Link.

I was just watching the review to see if it showed off anything new. I like how it will allow you heal a pokemon before you send it out. It's a nice touch.
