Video Game Rumors
#1
Have you ever heard of a rumor in video games that had you confused? Maybe, you actually tried this rumor for hours upon hours, and nothing happened? Well, let me tell you of a rumor in Spider-Man 2.

There was a rumor in Spider-man 2 were you could fight the Lizard. He wasn't originally in the game, but people actually tried this. So did my brother. The rumor was that if you wait until midnight next to the Pizza Parlor, the lizard will come out of the sewers to fight you. Of course, it was proven false.

So what are some other popular or not so popular rumors you guys have heard and/or fell for?

My brother told me about this rumor that happened during the 90s. After the release of the Mario Bros movie, there were rumors about a live-action Legend of Zelda movie being talked about. However. Nothing came out of it since Nintendo refused the idea after witnessing the lackluster performance of the Mario Bros movie.

It wasn't until 2007 where an actual pitch for a Zelda film(as an animated feature) was made by Imagi studios. Nintendo later rejected that pitch as well.

There was a ton of Pokemon ones back in the day for Red/Blue.

I got pissed when someone started the rumor a few years back that Nintendo was thinking about buying back Rare, since I'd love for that to happen. Apparently Rare has tried to submit new ideas but are just told "Nah, keep making sports shit" for the Xbox.

20+ years on, I'm still using strength on that truck. I'm gonna do it!
Also, this?

I don't know if I could find it again, but someone fabricated a side quest that involved taking the keys you find at a one of the slot machines in the game corner, find the owner, and then he moves the truck so you can get Mew. It was actually very creative and would've been really fun if it were true.

I still wish Nintendo had Rare so that they would be in good hands rather the condition that they are facing.

Speaking of Rare. There was a rumor that Touchstone Pictures was going to do an R animated feature of Conker's Bad fur day. Only thing was it was an april fool's joke. I was rather pissed about that one.

I'm still doing that "press [...] button when [...] to raise your chances of catching a pokémon"

I know it's a lie but I want to believe! D:

"If you drive in the subways in Gta 4 long enough you can find a hobo named Ratman who screams I'M RATMAN!!!!!"

I searched for days until I found out it was fake.

The 121st star in super Mario 64 and riding yoshi off the castle. I believed. And I did everything I could to ride him off into the sunset and get that mythical star.

I think this one was pretty common. I think it was that if you shot every single end credit in Melee you would unlock Toad. Yes it was fake, but I got damn good at shooting the credits.

What did shooting the credits even do? I can't remember if it was just for fun or if it actually did something.

As far as I remember I think it was just for fun.

One of my (than) friends in middle school once borrowed my copy of DBZ: legacy of Goku 2. When he was suppose to give it back he told me he wanted to see if there were any secrets. Like an idiot, I let him keep the game for a week, and a week later I asked if he found any thing this is what he said was in the game:

If you beat the game with all the characters at level 100, you will be able to fix the time machine that Cell used and you can than take that to go to the very first cut scene and have a "What If" story fight with the future characters and a new story where everyone of the Z fighters were turned into androids and you had to fight them.

I really wanted to see if this was real but I never got the game back and later on in life, I saw a let's play on the game showing how disappointing the real secret was. I still want to play this "What If" story.

There was an old rumor at my school for Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn where if you completed the game with the right support convos, Ike would leave and come across Roy and Marth. And it was false, of course.
