Really hope I didn't post another fake...

Anyway if this article is true I'm happy game developers understand. As much as I have mixed opinions on Anita Sarkeesian I personally believe that all these rape threats she gets is just very immature. If you don't agree with what she does then have a productive conversation about it, state why you disagree with her info don't put a comment like "Ur a bitch cause u talked bout ma game n a bad way".

Here's a better one: http://www.change.org/p/the-gaming-indus...p-the-hate It asks for devs and journalists to stop the hate because they're the ones who are hating the most vocally.

Gonna be "that guy" but what exactly does signing a petition like this do? Congrats, you've compiled a list of names that go towards nothing. There's such a thing as not giving into trolls and then there's people who do take online insults seriously (which shouldn't be brushed under the rug) which result in a lot of people also taking a stand in that aspect too. It's pointless petition that solves nothing, only that people within the industry are against this 'hate speech'. Fair enough, I agree and like the effort is trying to be made, but again...welcome to the Internet.

I find this to be a better petition. I'd argue that if developers are so open about people regardless of sexual orientation, gender, age, race and so on, then why do they continually make white male protagonist games?
According to GameSpot, the list of reputable developers are:
Quote:Including Rockstar North, Naughty Dog, Bungie, 343 Industries, Blizzard Entertainment, and Epic Games.
Yet all have the same type of protagonists. I know I've gone a tangent, but I find this irony to be astounding. Why not end the hate by being productive about it? Then we wouldn't have to put up with the crap Anita says which is only stemmed from developers and their publishers.
(Also, there are valid reasons to not like someone).

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth official trailer just released, along with the release date of November 4.

Fair warning: The trailer is fucking creepy.

^ I hope the game is better when it comes to Xbox. I hear the PC version is clunky to control and I decided to pass on it. I am going most likely to pick it up when it does release, clunky or not.

Clunky? I didn't find it clunky and I've put about 60 hours into it.

Someone I watch on youtube said that the way that the walking and shooting controls are, it makes playing the game very difficult and would be better played on a real controller. That's only one opinion and everyone else seems to love the game for what it is, but I still think I would like to wait for a console release just to be on the safe side. Don't want to waste my $5 or what ever it costs.

The PC version will have controller support if that makes any difference for you.

It really depends on one's preferences. If you're used to PC controls in games then they're not a problem.

Metacritic reviews of destiny make no sense: http://www.gamezone.com/originals/2014/0...to-go-away

This is why Metacritic needs to be shut down. How can you rate the game a 0 for the PS4 and a 10 for the Xbox One? Makes me cringe reading about people being this stupid.

I can't believe the comments on that article aren't in agreement though... Seriously, every exert there demonstrates bias, and thus adjusting our views of the title. Exterior conditions for the user alter their perception, and the game isn't judged as just a game.

The only basis for reviews in this manner work on storefronts. For example, Steam's user reviews system works well because everyone is on a level playing field and know exactly what is going on.

Well, I would say, on the whole... The average of the reviews isn't that far off...
Not that I have played the game, but from what I have pieced around from a ton of biased reviews:
Multiplayer has a ton of problems at this point. You go in with your own character that is leveled. There is supposed to be a system to layer this all out put in place sometime in the future, but if you turn on the game and go straight for multiplayer, you will be absolutely mowed down by people who have already beaten the game and are level 20 in stats. Gameplay doesn't have to be entirely symmetrical, but that is a large failure at this point. You shouldn't have to beat the game to stand get your stats high enough to play multiplayer. Secondly... no private servers. No balancing... This is supposed to be fixed in the future... but it seems like an incomplete game release then.
Also, the game has drawn so many other elements in from other style of games. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do any of them well. So it's still good in gameplay from that aspect... just not great... Also, who made the menu choices? Why can't you just navigate menus with a D-Pad? Using a mouse style menu works well if you have a.. MOUSE. Not a joystick.
So, I'm guessing that it will start getting reviews in the 6-8 range from critics(and 10/10 from IGN). The median score on Metacritic will pan out over time to reflect this also.

At the same time, I'd argue that people shouldn't even be holding reviews (professional or not) as fact or a factor as to whether you should purchase a product.

Metacritic is perfect example of Fanboy/girlism. If it's not that, then it's the way reviewers value themselves on such a website. But lastly, it comes down to us who place value on what people say. Everyone plays a part in what's wrong with scores.

From the trailers and gameplay I've seen of Destiny, I really don't think it looks that good or even interesting. But I'll still end up giving it a try regardless of what score it gets by anyone.

Sony is killing the Store for PSP everywhere except US and Japan. http://www.destructoid.com/sony-cutting-...1034.phtml

Now would be a good time to make the rest of the damn games available for the Vita!

Metacritic is a badly coded site anyhow, I remember you could give a game a score of like -10 or something because they fucked up the ranking system and messing with the code can make you do that.

Additionally, since people have some sort of trust for metacritic since it's "you" reviewing it, it's a great place to make people create biased reviews in general to help their game or just to spite another.
