Ummmmmmmmm HELL YES.

My username used to be "ssbawesome" for a reason. I've always been huge on Smash Bros. This rocked my entire day.

Been dealing with a lot of stuff lately but between this on top of the new Kirby and that Luigi's Mansion remake. This direct has made me the happiest I've been in a while.

There better be Twilight Princess Link, Toon Link, and Breath of the Wild Link with BotW Link being a totally new character after the last Smash

You could also just look at the translated Japanese Nintendo Twitter account, it's a new Smash Bros. It's probably been in the works ever since the Switch kits were handed to first party devs.

I told my wife about this as soon as I saw the video; told her I'll be saving for the new SSB and 2, maybe 3, more controllers.

Thanks. It's just a lot of people on twitter and /r/nintendoswitch somehow think it's just a port.

My opinion, if they are confirmed, it's not a spoiler, and if it's speculation, it may not be correct, so there's no reason to post spoiler tags.

Another bit of evidence for Smash Switch being a new entry: The small bit of music from the trailer (assuming this is a segment of the new theme) seems to be completely original.

Sounds pretty Melee/Brawl-ish to me, maybe a indication of a shift more towards the style of those games?

If this is a new game then, is anyone on here willing to hand over their copy of Smash Bros for the Wii U for me please?

It would probably depend on what they do with the game. Brawl was complete garbage but I think with updates it should be a pretty good game.

I don't have anything available to me to be able to remix that "new" theme, but just by listening to it, it sounds like it could be sped up with a trumpet sound and it would be close to the original theme if not exactly the same.
