Let's have some uplifting news this time !
In 2016, a local bus driver here defended a woman wearing a niqab who was being harassed by someone on his bus. He was later diagnosed with terminal cancer. As his health declined, the local Muslim community banded together to raise money for him, allowing him to buy mobility equipment. "He was very humble and did not want to be called a hero, although that is what he was to many in the Muslim community." -- Ihsaan Gardee, National Council of Canadian Muslims RIP Alain Charette <3 http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/ala...-1.4795269

Venezuela seeks to repatriate $550 million of gold from Britain
3D virtual reconstruction of the Kebara 2 Neandertal thorax (A common believe is that Neanderthals were hunched over, but according to new research they actually stood up straighter than we do) For those who don't know, Neandethals or Homo neanderthalensis are a different species of humans. They are supposed to be separate from us, the Homo Sapien. Often the Neanderthal is presented as our direct ancestor – which he is not, think of him more as an evolutionary cousin. Our cavemen ancestors are instead called early H. sapien. Or Cro-Magnons if we are specifically talking about the first early H. sapien that settled in Europe.
