Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
#1
I've been invited to a Launch Event for this game, and I can tell you now, I am more than fucking ecstatic to receive this invite. Myself, you, your mother and your dog all know what Far Cry 3 is, but this game... This is something else.

Quote:The year is 2007. It is the future. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on.

The game is available May 1st, but can be pre-ordered now on Steam. And pre-order you should. Because it's at a third of the usual "blockbuster" price of a game, but is already shaping up to be 10x as good as blockbuster games.

I'll be sure to get some photos from the event, because we've been promised an "evening of drinks, lasers, cyborgs and the most kick-ass cyber-shooter of the year!"

Looks pretty good. Wasn't this game leaked/hacked not to long ago?

The game leaked to torrent sites before release due to an error in uPlay. As such, if you're naughty you can download it now; but at the price it's being sold, I suggest you fork out money to show support for a game which actually doesn't suck at being funny, and is still really fun to play. The only games I've played that do this well is the Portal series.

I didn't even like Far Cry 3 that much and I'm excited for this.

Not sure if you've seen this, but the guys over at Corridor Digital made a pretty sweet looking video about it, I really didn't like Far Cry 3 that much but god dammit I'm buying this.

I didn't even buy Far Cry 3 yet but I'm gonna pick this up on PS3 (my laptop can't run that, hell no). I hope it's got a week 1 sale like it most certainly will on Steam, and like Guacamelee + Thomas Was Alone did this last month on PSN... even if it's just 10-20% off for PS+.

I don't mind paying $15, but I hate when right after I buy something it's on sale a week or two later.

It's not DLC. It's an XBLA, PSN game (It's also on PC, just giving it its sub-category on the consoles).

Even though I'm not really into FPS, this game actually interests me on the grounds of the atmosphere. It's like the game doesn't take itself seriously and I like that very much. Also it has that Terminator mixed with an action movie vibe as well. It really does seem that the 80s style is in games of recently like Double Dragon Neon, Retro City Rampage and a few others.

Plus references to Richard Harrison, Godfrey Ho (both of them involved of them cheaply made 80s ninja movies where only like 10 minutes is filmed and the rest is some foreign [Chinese/Thai/Korean] movie badly dubbed into English), Jason Bourne on their website complete with the retro look even right down to the older Ubisoft logo [altered to say Ubiworld] and the fake prices of merchandise sealed the deal.

Just hope the game doesn't have any problems though like bad slowdown, bad controls or crashes... Should be okay though.

What I managed to play of it so far, the game runs amazingly well; far better than Far Cry 3 did on my machine, which for some reason didn't like the transitional loading effects of 3D environments.

Eagerly awaiting Tuesday! :D

I just played some and it's way better (in my opinion) than Far Cry 3.
This is gunning to make some Top 10 lists at the end of the year.
