I'm not even slightly kidding about this. I agree with ya, it would be awesome to see a female Link with different hair color. Change it around a bit because then it doesn't look like clones of the other Link and it looks unique, can still be apart of the family tree of Links but don't make it look like the rest of the ancestors. RE: Zelda Wii U - BumblebeeCody - 06-23-2014 Sorry but I have to link to a Shitaku article based on this discussion: http://kotaku.com/the-big-zelda-interview-e3-2014-1592548169 Quote:Schreier: There was a lot of talk about the main character of the trailer—is it Link, is it not Link, is it a boy, is it a girl? One of the big questions that it got people talking about is: Would we ever be able to play as a female hero in a Zelda game? Is that something you've ever thought about, or something you're considering? I welcome a female Link and I think it'd show that Nintendo aren't stuck in their stupid "traditions". RE: Zelda Wii U - CLXcool - 06-24-2014 Guys. Link has gone through a design change before. So why is everyone complaining like they weren't expecting it? RE: Zelda Wii U - Zaliphone - 06-24-2014 I really like the new design. It looks like the art that was in the manual for the first LoZ game, or how he looked in LoZ 2, but more modern of course. RE: Zelda Wii U - Newt - 06-25-2014 I'm glad it's not just me that's thought about other "Links." It's canon that each "Link" is a different Link, and that his name isn't even Link. That's why he's always referred to the "Hero of BLAH" for whatever game he's from. The Hero of Time is a very different character compared to the Hero of Twilight. To help audiences understand that, I'd like it if Link looked outright different in a new game. I agree with BumblebeeCody. If Nintendo wants to show they're not pinned to tradition, they need to really switch it up. Maybe to stay safe for themselves, they can just change hair color, but in an upcoming game, I want a female Link. Can Link NOT by a Hylian? Is it possible for Link to be a Gerudo? Wouldn't that be a trippy switch-up, maybe reserved for a Gaiden game so fanboys won't cry too hard? Link is born a Gerudo and the holder of the Triforce of Power is a Hylian? It'd be a great opportunity to make Link a female in that game. RE: Zelda Wii U - CLXcool - 06-25-2014 If I recall. There's a book that was officially released by nintendo explaining the timelines from the Zelda series. Showing off three different timelines(one where link is victorious over defeating Ganon, one where Ganon wins, and one where the hero of time was just already beginning). I wonder where this would place on the timelines of Zelda. RE: Zelda Wii U - Zaliphone - 06-25-2014 (06-25-2014, 12:52 PM)CLXcool Wrote: If I recall. The three timelines are the Hero being defeated, the Hero succeeding and being a child, and the Hero succeeding and being an adult. RE: Zelda Wii U - Beware of Cuccos - 06-27-2014 RE: Zelda Wii U - BumblebeeCody - 06-27-2014 Pretty interesting read. But if it is before Skyward Sword, then it means this game will/won't take place in Hyrule. RE: Zelda Wii U - Kakariko Kid - 06-27-2014 Entertain this thought for a moment. What if this is actually Lorule in its former glory (just a thought, I haven't played A Link Between Worlds)? It's a good theory, but I believe the whole point of Lorule is that it's the complete opposite of Hyrule. It's supposed to be dark (just not evil), like it was with Twilight Princess. The "other" worlds are supposed to be dark. That is their life in that world. RE: Zelda Wii U - CLXcool - 06-27-2014 The whole 'different universe' concept has been around for a long time. Think of it as this. Say if world A had world peace, no war, no violence, no crime, corruption and etc. While World B was the reverse thing of world A. Link to the past and Between worlds experimented with that. But Zelda is what got most people thinking about the 'different universe' concept as a whole when it came to the Link to the past/link between worlds. It may be possible that this could be Lorule. If this is correct taking place before Skyward sword. We are looking at a different universe than what we know isn't Hyrule. RE: Zelda Wii U - Kakariko Kid - 06-27-2014 This is all so interesting. I'm gonna have to get a 3DS and a Wii U soon. RE: Zelda Wii U - BumblebeeCody - 06-28-2014 True but what I was getting at is: That place(the surface) has always existed it just never had a name until Zelda decided to name it. It means it's possible for this new Zelda game to exist without needing another universe. It'll just take place on ...well whatever it was before Zelda derped the timeline. |
