RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - Raven - 06-18-2013 Fire Emblem - With memorable characters, storylines, and the loved/dreaded perma-death feature, each game produces a unique experience that leaves you waiting eagerly for the next game. Also, it's like chess with violence. Animal Crossing - A fun series that encourages creativity while also being competitive. Also contains one of the best forms of multi-player I have seen. I do have a couple of questions: 1. Can I nominate later if I think of any more franchises? 2. What about series such as Super Smash Bros or the Shonen Jump Stars games? Although they contain many different characters, do they count as a franchise? Each Super Smash Bros is marketed as a Super Smash Bros game, and everyone knows what to expect from it. It was mentioned in the opening post that this is a battle of franchises, not characters. All crossovers, if they belong to a franchise of their own, aren't tied to the franchises the characters are from. Yup, just like he said, if someone wants to nominate Mario Kart or Smash bros, go on ahead! And yeah you can update your nominations later, but remember that you have a total maximum of 4. Remember that after the due date, no changes can be made. RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - BumblebeeCody - 06-18-2013 Actually I was gonna put Tekken. So: Tekken - Best fighting series personally Bioshock - some of the best gameplay and story telling(Bioshock 1 especially) Street Fighter(including the VS series) - Really made me see fighting games in a different way so much respect to that series) Metroid - One of Nintendos best series that's never put out a bad game and really feels like it's matured as gamers got older. RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - pyoro64 - 06-25-2013 I nominate. . . Double Dragon, Mario Kart, Ratchet and Clank, and Ape Escape, I would've nominated Metal Slug, if it hadn't been already nominated. RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - gamemaster1991 - 06-25-2013 I nominate the PS2 main three Sly Ratchet and Clank Jak I also want Ape escape and Pokemon My Wild Card (only becuse I don't think he would make it far) will be Duke Nukem RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - JiraiyaSennin - 06-25-2013 It hath been more than five days past, this must be done soon. Final Fantasy 18. Disgaea 19. Fallout 20. Neverwinter 21. Starcraft 22. Warcraft 23. Fire Emblem 24. Animal Crossing 25. Tekken 26. Bioshock 27. Street Fighter 28. Double Dragon 29. Mario Kart 30. The matchmaking is also going to be done via assigning numbers to each nomination, then generation a randomized list of those numbers and pairing it in sequential order from there. I'm really loving the involvement here guys, keep it up ^_^ Oh, and I'm changing my Metroid nomination to the SSX series, since someone else already nominated Metroid. Also, no Sonic nomination yet, which is surprising. Let me know if I missed anything, I think I got it all down so far. RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - Arjahn - 06-25-2013 ALL RIGHT! The first round is here, the infamous fighter Tekken is taking on the Bolt-Bonanza Ratchet and Clank! Vote in the poll above for your pick! RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - Psychospacecow - 06-25-2013 Come on Tekken! Devil Jin has some answers for you. RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - pyoro64 - 06-25-2013 How long do these rounds last? RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - Arjahn - 06-25-2013 Either 2 or 3 days, probably just 2 unless anyone has any objection to that. I might just make them 24 hours, anyone have any input? RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - ThisGuyInTheSuit - 06-26-2013 Guesses: 1) Ratchet and Clank 2)Bioshock 3) I hope Mother, but That got pared with an MMO, so I CALL HAX! 4)Street Fighter 5)Harvest Moon 6)Final Fantasy 7)Megaman, Megaman! 8)Very clear winner. 9)Fire Emblem will probably beat both Tekken and R&C. 10)Bioshock will still hold out. And hey, while we're at it, anyone wanna Gamble on this? Bet Rep points on each match? Heh, *Wink* *Wink* :3 And Arjahn, with 2 days each, this would last a month, and 1 day each, about 2 weeks, so it Pretty much depends on how lazy you think you're gonna be. RE: VGFACTS FORUM TOURNAMENT OF FRANCHISES - Arjahn - 06-26-2013 Eh, I just want to give people enough time to vote, does anyone have any objections to 24-Hours per matchup?
