Should schools teach accurate history in history classes, even if it's incredibly dark? Basing this question off of some schools in the southern U.S. ignoring segregation and slavery and all that jazz.

Yes, because while it may be dark and disturbing it teaches some very valuable lessons, and if history is not taught it is bound to repeat itself, which would result in people having to live through some very dark and disturbing times once again, and that's bad.

And yes, teach real history. But it will never realistically happen either, due to everyone wanting to look righteous and moral and all that stuff.

Part of the problem isn't just righteousness. It's conceived reality. Sometimes we don't learn about something, simply because the writers didn't think it was a big deal, because to THEM, it's not a big deal.
My grandmother was in the Japanese internment camps.(Also. Newt is 1/4 Japanese. Hard to tell, I know.) My history books very, very briefly went over the subject. To the point where I couldn't find it. I had to ask my teacher about it, and he pointed out a small paragraph. When I tried saying they should be more largely mentioned in history books, my teacher shrugged it off and said "It wasn't that big a deal. It's not like we murdered them like Hitler did."
Hey guys, kidnapping innocent Americans and locking them into camps against their will with no knowledge of when they'd be released(Even prisoners know when they'll get released) wasn't a big deal, because we didn't murder them in cold blood. Cool. Thanks America.

Let's see, all real objections to it actually stem from religious notions, which is quite odd for a country with a separation of church and state...
Heck, let them marry. Marriage is only a legal binding system that lowers your taxes. Ain't like it's going to change what they are already doing in the bedroom. Nor will it cause a massive amount of people to turn homosexual all of a sudden. My personal morals and decision to not marry another dude aren't getting trampled on.

When it comes to marriage, I don't think it should be anyone's business. You can get married and be gay now in the same sense you could back in the day before there was a government registry about it, and frankly, you'd be better off than if you were on that registry.
Do I have an issue with people marrying each other regardless of gender? No.
Do I have an issue with how marriage is handled now? Yes.

I honestly don't care for marriage, but I'm happy for those who love each other.
For gays I don't see why they can't get married. Basic human rights, no discussion.

Too be honest, being a gay couple isn't against the law, why should marriage be?
My only question is, if they found out their adopted child was straight, would they react that same way parents do when they find out their child is gay?

Kind of sounds like a sitcom moment doesn't it?
Here's a debate idea.
What are your opinions on areas where only government provided food is available, or dwarfs other solutions?
Think schools.
Personally, I find it to be problematic as it allows for a government-sanctioned monopoly where there is a constant justified drop in quality and increase in price.
