Same here.

I received it for for Christmas sometime when I was young. The N64 follows close.

The first console I played was a SNES. The first console I owned was a N64.

Found my first console in the trash. A PsOne with a screen, and GTA2.
Then I got a GameCube that same year for christmas, with Carmen Sandiego: The Secret of the Stolen Drums, and SSBM.

My first console that I played and owned was a Sega Mega Drive with a 6 game multi-cartridge that had Sega Soccer (aka World Cup Italia 90), Columns, Super Monaco GP, Revenge of Shinobi, Sonic 1 and Streets of Rage even though at the time I wanted a Sega Saturn but it turned out to be the right choice.

Still to this day I don't have the Saturn though...

My first console was the good 'ol PlayStation 2! Of course nowadays I usually only play games on the computer, but I still tend to use that Xbox 360 that's been collecting dust.

Gameboy Color. It was a Aqua color. Hours and hours of Pokemon Yellow. Never forget those days.

RE: Your First Console - Pokemon - 03-20-2013

My first console was the Super Nintendo or more popularly known as the SNES.

RE: Your First Console - Wardenclyffe - 03-20-2013

I got an SNES for Christmas when I was 3 with Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World. My grandpa regrets giving to me to this day because he thinks video games are a stupid waste of time.

My grandpa regrets getting me my Gameboy color. Says I am wasting life and I should get off those stupid things. I have been there. Now he doesn't give me money for birthdays and christmas cause he knows that in one day I'll spend it all on games.

My very first console was the grey GameBoy when I was seven. My mother got it for me, because we made a deal that I will get excellent grades and the GameBoy whould be my reward. I played the shit out of it till it finally broke down. Actually I literally destroyed it! I still have it to this day!!

If the computer counts too, then it's the computer. That baby had something like 100GB HD and half a GB of RAM.

The first console I have actually owned was the PS2. I went to friends and such to play N64 and a bunch of others. The first handheld I owned would be the Gameboy Color which I broke.

For all you PS2ers, can you recommend me some games for it, I'm buying one soon!

Make a thread for that and I'm sure you'll get a ton :P

Would you prefer exclusives and/or maybe games that have not yet been re-released for newer platforms? General gaming preferences would help, too.

^ This. But the first I played was my cousin's Dreamcast, until I got one myself (after the SNES). Now it just gathers dust in the basement, and induces waves of nostalgia whenever it is played. :D
