I sooooo want to marathon it and it's so hard not to sneak episodes in when I still have so much to do. BLARG.

Morticia and Gomez are the best couple ever.

Better get on to it quickly before Google eats it. I've had that happen multiple times.

I know where you can get your GCCX fix. I can pull some links from the SA thread that translates the episodes, just let me know what episodes you want. B)

EDIT: Actually the paywall might be down so here's the thread: Thread OP (Most of the links in the OP are dead due to some issues)
Flitered Posts with the episode links (Warning: The files are around ~500mb each. If that's too much for you let me know and I might be able to encode a smaller file.)

I'll see if they are too big for me latter. It's nice to know I can watch one of my favorite shows again.

RE: TV Talk! - retrolinkx - 11-08-2013

I've been watching a new show called Blacklist.

It's basically about this master criminal using the FBI to do his business for him.

See, now that's great and all, but the characters are retarded.

Half the time, the FBI just DON'T do anything when something MAJOR is happening, and let the master criminal do it.

It's like everyone is five steps ahead of them.

Oh, and the CGI is laughable.

RE: TV Talk! - Hexadecimal - 11-09-2013

Ran out of tape and bubble wrap, and it's freezing and windy outside, so I'm going to buy more tomorrow and call it day from packing now. In other words, back to the Addams Family.

Have you guys ever been watching an older TV show and heard lines that you just know wouldn't fly nowadays? It doesn't happen too often, but one example is when I watched Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines and Muttley called Dastardly an "Indian giver", which isn't politically correct anymore.

I was really surprised with an Addams episode I watched since I didn't know this word was still "OK" in the 60s. The plot involved some government folks thinking the Addamses were martians and were confused by how Cousin Itt was speaking since a fellow had thought he knew martian language. The other guy replied by saying that maybe Itt was a "Retarded martian". People absolutely flip over anything they deem insulting to mentally challenged people so I'm surprised they didn't demand this line be cut. I know a lot of racism in cartoons is cut out or the episode banned entirely.

If you watch The Flintstones, apparently you'll have a gay old time.
I find that us not using the word gay an more a tad bit silly.

I learned from reading a Tintin comic that saying "fagged out" is apparently the same as saying you're tired. I have never heard or seen that anywhere else.

The show All in the Family with Archie Bunker. Pretty much most of what he says wouldn't probably fly these days unless you have the giant disclaimer they always had before you watched it

"The program you are about to see is All in the Family. It seeks to throw a humorous spotlight on our frailties, prejudices, and concerns. By making them a source of laughter, we hope to show -- in a mature fashion -- just how absurd they are."

With that CBS could say what they will cause they warned everyone that bad stuff was a coming....then again we have South Park and Family Guy to pick up where they left off so I guess my point has been made invalid already huh?

RE: TV Talk! - gamemaster1991 - 11-19-2013

I'm thinking of checking out The Daredevil cartoon that Netflix is creating. The only problem I for see happening is having people think that the Parody came before the original. Don't know what I'm talking about? Look up the Hand from Daredevil and than look up the Foot from TMNT.

Just going to call it if I find a post calling the Hand clan a rip off.

Actually it's going to be live action, not a cartoon. 4 series in total of slightly lesser known, more on the ground/in the streets type superheroes such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones.

Here's the article that IGN did with all the details: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/07/daredevil-luke-cage-iron-fist-jessica-jones-tv-series-coming-to-netflix-leading-into-the-defenders-miniseries

Someone told me that it was going to be 4 cartoons. I think it will be much better since it's going to be live action.

It's funny, I had an experience like that today where someone swears they heard something one way only to find out they were wrong the whole time. One guy I work with said he would use a time machine to go back and save Stephen Hawking from getting into a car crash not realizing that he is in a wheelchair from a degenerative disease....oh well, live and learn right?

RE: TV Talk! - Hexadecimal - 11-30-2013

I'm gonna face my fears and watch the episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? on youtube that seriously traumatized me to see if it's as bad as I remember.

RE: TV Talk! - Hexadecimal - 01-08-2014

I was unfortunately pretty young when Daria came out, so I only got to see a handful of episodes during the rare and erratic times when MTV chose to re-run them. The entire series was available on Amazon for only $13, so I pounced on it.

Turns out it's so cheap since they had to cut out all the music, but I'm still enjoying it. I'm only almost done with disc 2 but I know I'll be pretty sad once I get it all finished.
