Let me explain here. This is unlike anything meant for children, and this IS a true fact.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Don't say you haven't.

I have never seen anything like this from a children's game.

There are two promotional comics for the Sly Cooper series. The sneaky raccoon that you all know and love has his own comic now. But, seeing what it contains really made it look like it was meant for teens.

There is an amount of swearing in the first comic, mainly coming from Carmelita Fox. Really? She even called Cooper a "smart(synonymfordonkeyhere)" while Sly was doing his usual cleverness. Yeeesh! She might as well become a substitute to the Tourettes Guy! A show about the Super Smash Bros. game would be much more appropriate than this! And... (classic words from AVGN)

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

Gee, this is really bizarre. I never seen much of that language in a comic from a E 10+ game.

Wait! Your telling me that they made a Sly Cooper comic where they cuss!?!? I can't believe it. Now my whole day is ruined. Great. Why would they make this.......... And not tell me about it sooner? I love Sly and now there is something this cool out there that I do not own. All I have to say is Shut up and take my money.

While it's kinda fucked that there was swearing and all, it's not really that big a deal to me, especially since they say ass in Shadow The Hedgehog (GC) and that game is also E 10+.

I think you're over reacting just a bit. I mean come on, you're warning a forum that cusses even worse than that.

Did you know that there is a quote in one of the news papers in the first game that reads "Dude, that's KickASS". This is not that surprising. Let me hear a F word or a Damn. Hell, Jak and Daxter said Bugger in every game and is still E in Europe (or where ever Bugger is a curse).

I think it would be funnier if they said sodomize instead of bugger. Just saying, since they mean the same thing.

I read both books and comics, though mostly comics nowadays. Do we count comics? Because my reading kinda went from comics in my childhood to young-adult books and to novels in my teens since I had literally read most of the comics and juvenile fiction books in my local library. Then I read pretty much every single novel in there that piqued my interest, found the wonderful world of online shopping and went back to comics. Such a wonderful circle I did there.

In any case, my favorite author is Stephen King, though I do enjoy the works of H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe. I've read most of King's books, I own a huge book that has all of Poe's writings in it and I have the Lovecraft Omnibus series on my shopping list. The only Lovecraft related piece of literature I have is a comic based on his stories called The Lovecraft Anthology (vol 1). I also love S.D. Perry's Resident Evil book series which is a fantstic read and shows that she truely knew what she was writing about.

When it comes to comics I read both manga, manhwa and everything in between. Marvel, Dark Horse, IDW, DC, Image... Pretty much all western comics fit my tastes from Deadpool to Friendship is Magic.

I guess I should also throw in my favorites per medium. Favorite novel: Stephen King's Pet Sematary, favorite novella: The Lady of Finnigan's Hearth (sadly I have no idea who wrote it), favorite comic: Dead Eyes Open (from Slave Labor Graphics) aaaand favorite manga: DragonBall (though Fullmetal Alchemist comes close second). I don't have a favorite manhwa since I haven't really found anything that really stood out.

Many thanks to anyone who had the time to read that. As you can see, I'm pretty passionate when it comes to reading :P

I've been way too tired to read for the longest time and it makes me so sad. However, I do need to find some new stuff to read as I used up the small list I had (I am such a picky reader). Maybe I should finish the Harry Potters but I really lost interest while reading the book that comes after Goblet of Fire.

I really like Stephen King's older books, especially The Shining. He's supposedly writing a sequel to it, which I hope is good.

What bums me out is how many repeat books I had to read while in school. While I was exposed to some great books I would've never found on my own, (To Kill a Mockingbird and Flowers for Algernon in particular) I actually ended up reading Flowers for Algernon THREE TIMES! ARGH! Also, I hated The Great Gatsby. Nothing happens! It's just a rich guy throwing a bunch of parties and getting killed at the end. The play Death of a Salesman bored me to tears as well.

I used to grab a Tintin comic fairly frequently to re-read. The Castafiore Emerald is by far my favorite since it was an "adventure" where the cast all stays at home and it's mostly all comedy. I swear there's nothing funnier than seeing Haddock get super pissed at a parrot.
