The first episode premièred on October 1, 2010. Unlimited was released in Australia on November 29, 2012 (US version was released on November 13). So it's plausible.

Well, that's what I'm saying. They have to stick true to their art style, so they base things mostly upon their current established characters, which explains that, but it still leads the question of intent.

If it really was a reference they could've at least made the incubus have a similar horn like is the case with the devil.

The Incubus isn't even red, so it really does show they were going for Kneesocks there with the Succubus.
