Is anyone else watching Orange? I just got through the first episode and really enjoyed it. I can't help but feel that it's going to rekindle my interest for Slice of life anime. I haven't really enjoyed one in a while now.

Ah man, if any of you want to read some well written short stories (8-9 pages max everytime) read "Nickelodeon"
They're actually pretty cool little stories, and some I really wish turned into a manga because they're all brilliant premises. Some are really sweet, funny and a few sad ones. Give them a read though, they're really great.
Such as the latest one I read was about two astronauts who went to a tiny planet, they inhabit it for a month and try to see if living on it would be viable for immigration. The planet becomes cold at night, and thus they use technology to make it day again and sunny, but then the planet is too hot, so they strip down to their birthday suit to cool off some more, but the male astronaut is too infatuated with the female, and they have at it. Eventually they lower the water levels so they can have a swim, and the male is feeling ill.
They check to see what's wrong with him and discover that small people lived on this planet they never saw before. The small people start praying to them and thinking they're Gods (since they could lower the water levels, and make it day and night again.) and then right after start having sex following their example.
It ends with them leaving the planet and wondering "Was showing them Religion and Sex bad for them?"

So a Youtube user by the name of "davidsilloanimations" decide to remake the fourth opening of the JJBA anime using sprites from the Capcom fighter and custom bit art.

So....after watching some trailers for the upcoming Berserk musou game, i got some interest in this series. With that being said, has anyone here read Berserk? It is any good? The only noteworthy thing that i know about this series is that it suffers from constant hiatuses.

I have read a fair amount of it. It's disorienting how it goes from this horribly brutal tale filled with every form of violence imaginable to One Piece where Guts is traveling along with kids on a boat and they're trying to reach some fairy king, if I remember correctly.
Honestly if you can handle extreme torture and pretty frequent rape (I had to take breaks) a lot in the beginning is actually a really interesting read. I don't know where the story is going to go, but it seems like he's just stalling for time and I'm sick of the breaks. I've heard they are off the boat now but I haven't gotten around to reading it again.

Yeah, I've been reading Beserk on and off since January, I've finally gotten around to actually giving it a thorough read of it, and damn. It's not what you'd expect. Spoiler ahead.
Spoiler:Guts gets raped at a young age. Worse of all he was sold off to another member of a gang of mercenaries he was part of by the boss whom he looked up to.
Here's a great line.

I think my favourite part of Beserk is seeing Guts act like a normal human, or reacting to something in an out of character way.
He's always incredibly serious and on the ball, but when he's not it's quite strange. Like in one part where his leader started to throw buckets of water on him in a playful fashion and Guts responded in a playful way. Oh, and his boss was naked at the time.
Or for example this part. (Nudity Ahead)
Guts and a female solider have just survived a long fall after a battle. Guts was wounded and he took care of his wounds. She was unconscious and has a high fever, it's raining and getting dark. Guts can only do one thing and that's share his body warmth with her to keep her warm.
He removes her clothes, and then notices there is blood on his hand.
It's pretty good, but it went from introducing Guts as we know him today, to going back to when Guts was growing up, and it's JUST been Guts growing up for the past 20 chapters. Nothing against it I guess, but it could've at least started with this instead of giving me....idk frontstory?

^ Yeah... It really has a feel that the creator knew what story he wanted to tell but should have thought about it more to get it better organized. Also, I feel like he didn't have Guts' personality decided 100% so he goes through what almost seems like mood swings of OOCness.

^
Now that's cool.
Also, the scans of Berserk I'm reading are weird in terms of the translations. Sometimes it's outright wrong, other times they'll abbreviate words so they'll fit in the bubbles (Tho, Thru), and sometimes they'll swap out words for similar sounding ones. (Two instead of to)
Seriously, it's getting annoying to re-read a line twice just because it isn't correct.
...man, you know when you read something and you want a character to fall in love with a specific character, but in the end they fall in love with ANOTHER character, and it's pretty well justified but you're still kinda annoyed by it?
That just happened now.
Oh for God sake. Now the pages are having different font placed on the pages FOR NO REASON.
IT'S NOT ADDING TO ANYTHING AND IT HAS NO RHYME OR REASON.

^ It's just F4F needs to stop announcing stuff and get on the statues they announced YEARS ago. So far, I think, One Punch Man is the only anime one they've finally completed. That show has a very cartoony style, so I can't tell yet if they can pull off something more detailed like Bebop or Samurai Champloo.
LOL. Yeah... Enjoy those earlier translated parts of Berserk. I promise you they eventually stop using "Gats" and tidy up their errors, but you have to endure the wonkiness first.

Oh for God sake. Now they're adding honorifics to everyone's names for no reason.
Guts is "The Black Swordsman" not "Blackswordsman-san"
Hell, Puck is Puck. Not Pack or Elf-Chan.
God damn these scans.
