Traditional turn based RPGs are a close second.

Yea the racing games I was saying that I didnt like was mainly Forza Need For Speed and Grand Trismo

Horror games, definitely. I'm not really sure why, as when I was a kid I used to be too afraid to even buy one and now I'm just not really all that scared of them anymore. I guess it's just the atmosphere, the design and the struggle for survival. They tend to have pretty good stories too.

Closely followed by TRPGs. Funny story on how I got into these and RPGs in general (I never even knew Pokémon was an RPG when I was a kid). I randomly found a ROM of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance online when I was looking for games to play on my emulator. I thought it'd be nice to play a game that has Cloud (I already knew of the character but didn't know that Advance is a different Tactics) and went into it. It was so good that when I lost my saves to it I was so pissed that I went out and just bought FFVII, thus getting into RPGs in general. In any case, I just love the tactical elements of these games much more than a regular RPG gameplay.

And third would be fighters. Because why the F not.

Some of the best games I've ever played are strategy games. I'm a big fan of games like Fire Emblem or once you get into EV training in Pokemon that becomes a strategy game in itself.

But agreeing with pretty much everyone in this thread, RPG games are usually a good way to go. Ranging from things like the Tales of series to say, Borderlands.

Of course! Story is the biggest part of a game!

It really depends on the game.

Minecraft, Angry Birds, Spore, Empire Earth, Civilization 5, Forza games, burnout games, and lets not forget the classic pong and pac-man.

For me, it's always been about the RPG's. Dot hack, Dark Cloud, Chrono Trigger, I've played a thousand rpg's, can't get enough of them. A close second is third person shooters.

Hack-and-Slash action adventure games are always my favourite. RPGs comes second. I love Chrono Trigger, FF X and A Link To The Past. RPGs are fun to play, but requires a lot of time (which i don't have)

(I like stealth games too, but I just suck at them so much...)

You know, games like that slipped my mind. Still some great games out there without story don't get me wrong! But I still do have to say that story can make or break a game. It could be the best developed game ever but if the story in a game was bad and made no sense or something I'd probably step back from it.

Fair enough, though Fighting games manage to get away with it.
