Well, considering they're not even coloring the people affected by a purple shoryuken with purple flames (like Bison's psycho crusher) or making a new winpose for Violent Ken so he looks at least a little "violent", It seems you are right on the whole "Capcom isn't putting a lot of effort with this".

Fun (and kinda unrelated) fact: the japanese version of the trailer features a remix of the song "itoshisa to setsunasa to kokoro tsuyosa to" from the SF2 animated movie, while the american version of the trailer just has Ken's theme in its place.

in the palm of its hands, whence subsequent models emitted Vanishing Energy².

Personally, I find it weird that they go out of their way to tie it into current lore by saying that FANG is currently running the project, but then also specify that it's a parallel universe character.

Make's it seem even less likely that Darun is canon just because his profile mentions events in Story mode.

¹ Yes, they did a copy-and-paste of Bratken's first description, only changing something here and there. I expect the same gag with the next FF2 boss. They actually kept the "torn sleeves" line even in his profile, but the mistake is evident.
² Double and triple-checked. I really don't know why and HOW he could've killed someone with a FAKE gun BY ACCIDENT... But it's probable that Freddie was planning to use a fake gun to intimidate the officer... and the gun WASN'T actually fake. It isn't clear, but it's a sad story anyway.
