SNK held a character desing contest and they picked the design from a woman in Saudi Arabia.

I'm just going to echoe what everyone else has said: the desing reminds me of Zato-1 from Guilty Gear (personally, I'm saying this in a good way).

That could be pretty cool. Haven't played an SNK game, but I always liked the designs.

Why?

I ain't made of time and money. Always been more of a Tekken person but got really into Skullgirls until my hand basically died for a year and a half and is still recovering to this day. Only really excited for FighterZ because its Dragon Ball and has a pretty casual focus.

So that's who people voted for as the third guest character for Tekken 7? Unexpected. Judging by the Twitter replies (it was a twitter poll) it seemed like Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza was going to make in it instead.

Or maybe this is completely unrelated DLC that has nothing to do with the poll.

Honestly I don't think it's part of the poll no. I've looked at several different articles about it and none of them have mentioned the poll even once. I'm willing to bet this has been something that's been in the works since just before FFXV's director, Hajime Tabata-san, said that FFXV wasn't done back in August.

Akira Nishitani (NIN) revealed the title of ARIKA's "Mysterious Fighting Game" for the PlayStation 4 as Fighting EX Layer.

They also revealed a "new" character.

For those out there who are confused about this 'Shirase' character:

The true identity of “Hokuto,” once the bloodline seal placed on her was released. The illegitimate child of the Mizugami Family; to hide her real identity she took the name of Hokuto and jointed the main family. She was brainwashed at infancy and given the mission to kill Kairi, but once the spell wore off, “Hokuto” became no more.

With her final will, she sealed her younger sister Nanase’s memory, so that she could live a life as a normal girl.

The concept of Shirashe's character dates from the era of the EX games. The reason why the Western fandom didn't knew about her until very recently was because most of this stuff was locked away by the language barrier.
