E3 2018
Conversely, I was absolutely elated by Nintendo's E3 after Bethesda's disappointed and the weird technical problems of Sony's conference.

Smash Bros is looking amazing, Metroid Prime 4 is still being worked on, new Fire Emblem is going full Nintendo Wars, we got more footage of Let's Go, the indie game showcase was really nice since I enjoy not burning through a battery on handhelds so quickly so I'm considering getting a Switch now, FighterZ is coming to Switch, Super Mario Party, Octopath Traveler coming very very soon :)

I'm glad that Nintendo was using this press conference that centers around gaming news to give us news about games, particularly its number one console pusher.

I dunno, I actually wanted to see her in smash for quite a while now. Thought I must say I'm dissapointed with the fact that she is a Peach clone rather than having her own moveset (a playstyle based around sport gimmicks, perphas).

EDIT: Looks like the perfect shield is some sort of parry mechanic. Interesting.

Also, waluigi is still an assist trophy? Disgusting.

Was gonna come here and comment about Perfect Shield. Feels like a parry mechanic that could factor into some hype matches ala Evo moment #37.

Personal highlight is the Pokemon Trainer and the melee Kongo Jungle stage.

Didn't care much for Smash but it looks nice. Going to get it since I need games for my Switch and it's a perfect one to get.

Overall, Microsoft probably won E3 for me. They showed a lot more things and were pretty hype throughout. Sony was a disappointment, it wasn't bad it was just stupid and shameful in a way. I wanted to see a lot more from them, and in the end they let me down. Nintendo is similar, they showed three games and expected us to be excited for them.

This E3 is better than last years I'd say, but I think since the Console gens are in such weird stagnant places no one really knows what to show and E3 sort of becomes about the games themselves instead of the interesting exclusive games (if you get what I mean?). Still, there was a lot of stuff shown and I'm happy for it. Next year will hopefully be better for Nintendo and Sony.

Overall, I think I'm actually going to give the win to Sony still. Xbox had some good games sure, but Kingdom Hearts III's Sony trailer was better, Xbox had a lot of slowdown moments to focus on games I didn't care about and pretty much skipped over nearly a dozen interesting looking Indie titles I would have liked to see more of, and I don't know. There were some good moments, but then there's Gears Pop, and no thank you, that's just a lazy looking mobile game. Nintendo also had the same problem, and didn't have anything for 3DS so bye-bye rumors for A Link to the Past Remake, and I guess who cares about Luigi's Mansion right? Sony had an issue with their stream on Twitch, but not on YouTube so while that sucked it was avoidable. The one thing that Sony did that no one else did though, was constantly have games that I want to play in their conference. No one else can say that for me. Also, and this isn't conference related but it's worth mention, Sony dropped tons of trailer for other games that I want to play on their channel and they are still dropping more. Hell even Greedfall got another trailer and I thought that was game more dead that Resident Evil 2 until Sony came in and said nope to that. Xbox I gave a 3.8/5 but Sony get's a 4/5. They win E3 for me, but by a small margin. Hopefully at Gamescom or Paris Games Week, which ever one they are going to, they will do even better.

My problem with the Microsoft one is that the only games I cared about were Halo and Gears of War and games that I could easily buy on PS4 or Switch. This could have easily sold me on an XBO, but I could easily buy a Switch to play Smash Brothers or buy Kingdom Hearts III or Tomb Raider for PS4. Like congrats on a new Combatfrogs game after 25 years, but I don't really like those games. I'd rather play Jump Force on PS4 or PC.

Nintendo had a very safe hand that we knew that they had. Something Mario (Super Mario Party), something Pokemon (Let's go ___), something Fire Emblem, Smash Bros., ports and rereleases. No Metroid though, which is not surprising, but also no word on a lot of big names Nintendo most likely has down the pipe. Once again, it was very safe.

Sony's was lacking, mostly because they talked about games we already know about and, again, Microsoft already showed us a good amount of games coming to the system. There really isn't much I have to say about it because of that.

So as a whole, yeah Xbox won, becuse they showed more PlayStation games then Sony.
