Last year on the local news they did a story about someone leaving their dog in the car while they were at the State Fair. Thankfully people saw it and busted the window out to save him.
As for kids... I am so happy I haven't seen any stories lately about that. I forget how long ago it was but I recall there was a time frame where it just would not stop happening. Granted I am not a parent, but I will never understand how you can actually forget about your kid and let them roast or think you can leave them in there for extended periods while you're doing something.
I remember that time period too. It was happening everywhere across the country! Even here, where the temperature is at least 90 most of the year, and reaches into the 110s sometimes.

It's the same thing out here with hurricanes. We get hit all the time, even up here in Houston we get force 4 or force 5 winds with some! But out here we don't get any news coverage or celebrity help (Texas is evil apparently) so we help ourselves and each other. If I owned a house and it got wiped out, I would stay here because it's home. I don't want to move anywhere else.
