I got all four of mine taken out at once, plus two other teeth. My wisdom teeth hadn't broken through, so they had to cut them out. The other two were the far back ones on the left, one on top and one on bottom. They had cavities to bad they broke in half. Literally broke in half horizontally, so they were both open cavities. It was awful. (I have bad teeth genetics that make my teeth rot themselves no matter how good care I take of them.)
They gave me some cocktail IV and the gas. I was out within seconds. When it was over I woke up crying for my momma (I was also 23 at the time). It was the only surgery I have ever had. I was scared. But, man, those drugs were awesome. I have never slept so good in my entire life.
Buy lots of jello, pudding, and broth. That's all you will be able to eat for a few days. Then you can move up to things like mashed potatoes and creamed corn. Be prepared to be at home for 4-7 days. And be prepared to have a sore/bruised face. My bruises didn't show up until a few days after.
