Not to necessarily replace the current measurements (because so many people would faff about "hurrrr it's our national measurement, we so prowduvit rahrahrah") but as an added number. Then I wouldn't have to keep in mind that I'm a 44 in France, a 9.5 in the UK and a 10 in Canada. There would be a nice little international number that would be standardised throughout the world.
Also, each brand seems to have their own size. I could wear a large shirt and 12 pants in one brand, and need an extra large shirt and 14 pants in another. Not to mention some pants brands are odd numbered and some even. Plus there's the whole type- skinny, straight leg, boot cut, curvy, short, regular, tall, etc. And combinations of them. Short curvy boot cut would fit me best, but Levis (I think) just started making curvy boot cut and they only come in regular.
Don't even get me started on how bra sizes are different everywhere >:(
If sizes could be standardized throughout companies I would be happy!
I read in an article that companies are using less and less fabric (to save money) on their clothes, but not re-sizing or charging less. They pretty much didn't say a thing and just did it. So a large now fits like a medium. Women are getting real fucked up in the head about it, thinking they've gained a bunch of weight when they really haven't. I fucking hate that shit. Especially since they're convincing people "Yeah, you want that half crop-top see through shirt. You'll have to buy another to go under it, since it's see through. And of course an over shirt as well to cover your mid-drift!"
