Marvel seems to be for the younger generation

You should read some Marvel stuff then, you'd be surprised. It's not all dark/gritty like Batman, and sometimes it sticks to the usual "Let's just beat some dudes up without any story or anything". But there's some pretty dark/mature stuff that happens. Some examples include a scene in Superior Spider Man

Doc Ock has control of Parker's body and is trying to get MJ in the sack, but she isn't going for it. So instead he straight up just jerks it to Peters memories of him and MJ doing the nasty. So yeah, in a way he raped Peter Parker.

And more recently

"Spock" (Dock Ock in Spidey's body) murders a super villain (point blank shot to the face) in a crowd full of people because he's tired of dealing with villains

There are more examples, but Marvel is definitely not for the kiddies anymore.
