Watching the Monkey Island games be played is fine, but I doubt I'd play a new one if it came out.I've always liked a good challenge in gaming. Thats what I enjoy point and click adventure games. They can be creative, and fun to enjoy. It would be nice to see a new 2D animated Monkey Island, like how Curse of Monkey Island looked, but I'm not holding my breathe since the last game was done in 3D. Disney should stop playing games(literally) to think that people aren't aware of the similarities between their pirates and Lucasart's Monkey Island series which they now own. If they gave the approval for a new Day of the tentacle, people would want to see Monkey island return. Last thing gamers need is for Disney to treat monkey island like they do with Howard the duck(own the rights, but do nothing to it since its 'too similar' to an IP they own already).
