So I recently found this at the SF story thread at the SRK forums:
So what do you guys think of this? Personally, I would like to see this idea become a reality.
Great_Dark_Hero: I agree on the notions above. What would you guys change to make them a bit more... relevant to the actual plot?
More specifically, making it so that the shotos are written better into the main idea revolving around preventing M. Bison's schemes?
Shockdingo: I don't know what I'd do with Ryu to make him more relevant. The original idea of Bison killing Gouken could have done it and been interesting, if not typical.
For Ken in SF3 era, I think it was Yagami, said that having Ken discover Illuminati roots in his family and having him and Necro encountering each other could make for some great moments. I feel like that would be a great way to make him relevant to the story and not be in Ryu's shadow forever.
YagamiFire: Yup. That was my story pitch.
Have Ken trace back money and holdings in his family to the Illuminati (who are still entrenched in the Masters Foundation and siphoning funds, etc) and start to investigate them. This leads to a confrontation with Necro. Necro & Ken would get character development as they both actually fight for loved ones and not for themselves (Ken for his family, Necro for Effie). You'd also get some good friction between them because Ken is a rich kid born with everything and Necro is a poor kid born with nothing. So they have stuff in common while still being very much opposites. Interestingly, Ken would also see that Necro is a lot like himself when he was young...fiery, hot-tempered and eager to prove himself. Necro doesn't have the mooring of a rivalry with someone like Ryu though...which means Necro is in danger of going too far.
Eventually Necro would also discover that Ken's family (not just his company) is tied to the Illuminati itself and would get very heated about this which leads to another confrontation between the two since Necro would naturally be very distrustful of ANYONE with blood ties to the Illuminati.
For context, the "notions above" are about people saying that the shotos feel somewhat forced whithim the Shadaloo side of the story.
Also, acoording to outdated suplementary material, it was teased that Ryu, Ken and Dictador shared the same master, obviously this is no longer truth.
