Shall we especulate about what happened in the 1.5-2.5 years since this ending happened?

What made Cody rethink his life and cut through his apathy? Was it Jessica? Was it Poison? (Remenber Final Fight Revenge?) Or was it because of the chaos that was inflicted on Metro City in ASF?

Whatever happened, it had to be something major. An event that made him said something among the lines of: "I keep denying it, but I went out of my way to help. Challenging and beating up scumbags.... and it felt good. Maybe there's something to being a hero again. It ain't just limited to Metro City."

Cody is easily the S3 character I'm looking foward the most.

 
Unrelated but related:
In Street Fighter 4, Cody's original costume is his Alpha costume which is him in his blue and white prisoner clothes as seen in that video and gameplay. If you get all the colours, colour 11 is black and yellow striped which looks like this:

He looks like a....BumblebeeCody. That's where my name comes from. My main character from SSFIV and the colour I chose.

Oh and I am hyped as fuck to play Cody in SFV. My main returns!
